Report: Trump’s Visa Suspension to Drive Up Wages for U.S. Professionals
Breitbart ^ | 3 Jul 2020 | JOHN BINDER

President Trump’s suspension of various visa programs and regulatory reforms is set to give American workers newly found leverage in the job market, a report details.

The banking and technology industry, Sarah Butcher reports for efinancialcareers.com, may go into “bidding wars” to fight for American workers at higher wages and better benefits thanks to Trump’s suspension of the H-1B, H-4, H-2B, J-1, and L visas.

Trump has also implemented vital regulatory reforms to the H-1B visa to prevent corporations from using the program to outsource cheap tech jobs to imported foreign workers.

The visa suspension and reforms, Butcher reports, are likely to force up U.S. wages and create a workers’ job market where employers bid for employees, not the other way around.

Butcher reports:

Now that banks and technology firms can’t bring in talented juniors from overseas on H1B immigration visas any more, the risk of bidding wars for top talent in the U.S. has increased. Banks in particular may find it necessary to put more money on the table. [Emphasis added] […]

With H1B visas out of the picture, something has to give. Initially, that something is likely to be pay at banks, which will need to be competitive to win students back from technology firms. However, over time technology firms are likely to hike pay too. It’s good news if you’re the sort of highly technical U.S. student everyone wants to hire now. It’s less good news if you’re a large organisation competing for what has become a far smaller pool of talent. [Emphasis added] […]

Winning

Now Trump needs to complete this by removing OPT and existing H1B and H4EAD Indian trash from the US.

I think those anti-Trump professionals should refuse to take higher wages and insist on receiving the same wages that the foreigners make, maybe even less.

No, it won’t drive up high tech wages.
It will restore them to the proper levels they were before these companies brought in incompetent Indians who took cheap wages to get into the US.

He should institute a 1 year total ban, renewable every year until America reaches full employment.

It’s not bad, but that’s not the main issue.

The H1B program has been de-industrializing us from within.

One of my boys is technically very talented. He worked at an H1B shop for a while, and saw that mid-talent foreign STEM workers were promoted over him (Chinese-heavy shop, although some are Indian-heavy). The wrinkle is that the foreign workers aren’t more productive per hour than Americans, but will work 75 to 80 hours a week, crowding into shared apartments, because they are putting in the necessary time before they can get a green card.

The effect is that it puts a barrier between the recent US STEM graduate (who may have college debts) and the job market, preventing him from getting the initial few years of experience that are critical for a higher job. My son’s gotten past that barrier now, but it was tough to go through.

If the flood of cheap foreign STEM is staunched, STEM will be a desirable field of study for American students again.

Using lots of ‘cheap’ foreign labor is one of the best ways there is—to lose your city-state, empire or country.

Suspend this H1B scourge indefinitely and don’t renew any existing ones. Send them all home.

The users of that labor don’t consider this their country ... they identify as corporate globalists.

They'll just wait him out for six months, then move programming offshore.

Get ready for MASSIVE data breaches through utter incompetence.

This will only change when C-level executives become personally liable for malfeasance.

In Roman times patricians would bring in slaves and the loyal ones, after a time would be given their freedom with the patrician as their patron for votes. Sound familiar?
