President Donald Trump was elected in part on his promise to change the direction of U.S. trade policy so it would put America first. He has kept that promise with new trade agreements and tough enforcement actions that break down foreign trade barriers, protect Americas competitive edge and stop the outsourcing of U.S. jobs.
A key Trump success and an important promise kept has been to end the job-killing North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and replace it with a complete and long-overdue transformation.
To replace NAFTA, Trump negotiated a modern, state-of-the-art trade agreement with Mexico and Canada that will be the model by which all future trade agreements are judged.
The new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) which goes into effect on July 1 is designed to create more manufacturing jobs in the U.S., secure greater access for American exports, and enhance Americas leadership in technology and innovation.
The overwhelming vote of support the USMCA received in Congress more votes than any other trade agreement is further proof that Trump has succeeded in charting a bold new course for Americas trade policy.

And the wall gets longer every day!!
When he promises something...he means it. That's how we know he's not a "real" politician. AND unlike our many politicians...he's beholding to no one....except you and me.
The coronavirus fraud and economic duress has completely changed everything, I can imagine this new trade deal is already obsolete and we will be regretting every facet of it very soon.
Interesting perspective. How exactly is this trade agreement “already obsolete?”
The fact that it was written before 45 million people lost their jobs.
Tearing up this trade agreement isnt going to do anything to change that.
After winning a second term by a landslide, he’ll have almost unlimited leverage to forge treaties favorable to the USA.
Keep on Rolling. I'm 100% with You, and I ain't going anywhere!
Yes indeedy!:)
I’m very glad you’re imagination keeps to itself.
Well I’m very proud this was accomplished. We needed NAFTA gone!
Why do I keep wanting to sing, “USMCA”?
