A painting of the Last Supper featuring a black Jesus will replace a Nativity scene at St Albans Cathedral to show solidarity with Black Lives Matter.
The Dean has agreed to install the 9ft piece of artwork on the altar after conceding that the church is in a weak position to preach about racial justice.
Titled A Last Supper, the painting reworks Da Vinci's renowned 15th century mural by casting a Jamaican-born model as Christ.
The announcement came less than a week after the Archbishop of Canterbury urged the Church of England to reconsider its portrayal of Christ as white.
Justin Welby said Christians should also accommodate global depictions of Jesus which show him as black, Chinese and Middle Eastern.
Embracing this philosophy, St Albans Cathedral in Hertfordshire is covering up its existing altarpiece painting with the high-resolution print which challenges 'the Western myth' that Jesus looked European.
It will cover up an untitled three-part painting of a scene from the Nativity, which shows the Virgin Mary and Child flanked by the shepherds and kings.

A good example of illegal immigration. It's even worse. Most immigration to the UK is/was legal -- muslims and other third worlders brought in by the millions by their govt.

"The UK is lost. Its a former country."
London is definitely lost.
I'm pretty sure the rest of the UK still has a heartbeat but is being dragged to the bottom.

Should also have some more appropriate food choices for Black Jesus’ Last Supper, like purple drank and flaming hot cheetohs.

My biggest disagreement is over doing it to appeal to one specific group.
We're doing this for BLM. Alright, you just cheapened the act. There's been huge numbers of variations of such depictions over the centuries to appeal to different groups.
Not the first time something like that has been done for appeasement.

If this is their focus, sounds like the church is in a weak position to preach the Gospel.

BLM has nothing to do with Christianity, and promotes the elimination of Christianity, Whites, private property, the Constitution.

Q. Was Jesus black, white, or something in between?
A. Yes.
So I have no problem with, say, a black community envisioning Jesus as a black man. And thats because its Jesuss words that matter, not His image.
But to use Jesus just to make a political statement - as is being done here - thats repulsive. Simply repulsive.

"Btw, if you are going to paint Jesus as black then all the other people have to be black, too."
Possibly not, if you intend to send a message of black supremacy.
As for the black Jesus, that is even more of a distortion of reality than the lily-white, blue-eyed Jesus often depicted in European art. But as the left dominates more and more social space, we are increasingly required to accept lies.
