I use two examples: church choir practice, no touching, wide spacing, large indoor space, no masks, 80%+ spread. Salon with masks and two positive employees, no spread. So far I have had zero responses to those two examples.

Which is a good reason to wear masks. The people who would be negatively affected by masks should not be out in public. One simple way to tell, if you run our of breath trying to talk then you have low oxygen.
