Washington (CNN)Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the liberal justices on the Supreme Court on Monday to block a controversial Louisiana abortion law that critics said would have closed nearly every clinic in the state.
The 5-4 ruling is a win for supporters of abortion rights who argued that the law was not medically necessary and amounted to a veiled attempt to restrict abortion. The law barred doctors from performing the procedure unless they had admitting privileges at a nearby hospital. The majority opinion was penned by Justice Stephen Breyer, who wrote that the majority "consequently hold that the Louisiana statute is unconstitutional." Breyer added later: "The evidence also shows that opposition to abortion played a significant role in some hospitals' decisions to deny admitting privileges." The ruling continues a trend of Roberts siding with liberals in major cases. He previously has upheld the program allowing undocumented immigrants who came into the US as children to remain and sided with opinion that extended anti-discrimination protections to LGBTQ workers.

Robert's nomination by GDubya, as were his father's nominations, are examples of how ill- suited, most of the time, the old-line GOP leadership is to ever subduing the left in this or probably any other regard.
Real dirtbag, thank you bush, the other dirt bag
Roberts is a total disaster.
GW Bush appointee. What a joke.
I think it was levin who said that Democrats choose team players for judges, but Republicans choose based on esoteric adherence to types of legal interpretation.
If there is blackmail material out there on Roberts, isn’t it time to find it out and bring it to light? Or bury it once more, IF the price is right....Like a retirement for health reasons when POTUS wins re-election.
GW was a Bushitter. When asked directly about laws and regulations being Unconstitutional GW said “That ship has sailed, we can’t go on fighting battles we have already lost” BEFORE he was elected the first time, when he should have been his most Conservative. I heard Republicans saying “Bush is MUCH more conservative than his Father”. Rino’s, the party establishment is stock full of them.
We need to ditch the GOP globalist party and start a Trump MAGA party.
The next SCOTUS judge will be picked by a Dem.
So it won’t matter.
I wonder how much was put into Robert’s Maltese bank account this time?
I think Bush or at least Roberts made a deal with the Democrats to side with them on their issues in exchange for an easy confirmation and future cash payments.
But unfortunately for them, Trump is the proverbial "fly in the ointment" ...
How old is he?

Roberts: in his confirmation hearing, made it clear that he was a Roberts-ian. He told us that this was his approach.

Breyer authored the majority opinion.
Roberts wrote his own Concurring opinion. Begins on page 46.
Thomas wrote the dissent. Page 62
Alito wrote his own dissent. Page 82
Gorsuch wrote his own dissent Page 116.
Kavanaugh also wrote a 2-page dissent. Page 137
I read much of Roberts. Gorsuch was excellent. Thorough & brutal ... picks apart Roberts/Breyer.
I recommend reading Gorsuch.
Each of the opinions

we need to find the pictures this guy is being blackmailed with and make them public.
“...When is the last time he decided anything in a remotely conservative way?...”
Maybe back before he was blackmailed?? Dunno.
“...we need to find the pictures this guy is being blackmailed with and make them public.....”
Agree. They need to be made public. They’re most likely some xxx kiddie porn-type pics of him in a verrrrrry compromising way some kid while on Epstein’s Island. Whatever it is, it’s got him fully compromised. They need to made public which should force the POS to step down.
Thanks.

Thanks, W! Ya really had us fooled for a little while.
Many on all sides will never vote for a Mormon as president....Mormons in politics play to Mormons’ best interests no matter what party they pretend to belong to. Reid and Romney....no differences between them at all.
That is what happened in 2012 from our side.
