Sunday morning a cop pulled over in the parking lot next to me for a break. I live in fairly stable Iowa college town. I brought him a fresh cup of coffee. I was wearing my trump hat so he figured he could relax with me.
I asked him how things were going and heard 3 things.
1) His instructions were to lay low and not look for situations. Almost an apology to me.
2) Just a few more years till his pension and then he was gone.
3) The younger cops were looking for different career options
