Apparently, standing up for the national anthem and supporting the president of the United States is "backhanded racism."
That is the case, at least, in the minds of several professional softball players.
On June 22, the players of Scrap Yard Fast Pitch, a professional softball team based out of Conroe, Texas, decided to quit the team because their general manager had published a pro-Trump, pro-national anthem tweet.

I agree. Love it or leave it was a big mantra when I was in college in the late 60s.
These people think that to get their way or to get what they want, that the entire country has to change so as not to hurt their feelings or offend them. Boo-hoo. Cry me a river.
If you can't learn to tolerate differences in people and culture a free country, leaving is the best way to solve that dilemma.
Go to some other country that will change just for your whiney ass, so you don't have to change. Good luck with that.
It’s coming. If you dare to stand for the anthem at sport events you will be seen as a racist. I foresee many sports not playing the national anthem here soon. No Flag, No anthem will be the norm.
Maybe they should quit and get a real job.
If you think standing is ‘correct’ you’re racis’.
Is that a shovel ready job?
(Also, for any kneelers/quitters, painful patellectomies for all of them!)

General Motors?
Nah. More like midnight b-ball. Or something. I wonder if they were getting some sort of grant money. Ticket sales probably weren’t paying the bills. Or advertising for ‘Bubbas Used Cars’.
Yup. LOL! Probably general motors is down with kneeling and being at one with disrespecting the flag in this oppressive racis’ country. How can they look at themselves in the mirror?
From Wiki:
2018[edit]
On January 28, the Dawgs announced via press release they would no longer be affiliated with the NPF. The NPF terminated their franchise on January 29 citing that the team had violated several league operating rules and franchise requirements.[6] The team indicated they would continue as an independent team under the name Scrap Yard Fastpitch.[7]
...
All eighteen players quit the team.[8] The players vowed to never play for Scrap Yard again and formed a new team tentatively named This Is Us.[9] Scrapping together donated uniforms, the players returned to the field days later, defeating the USSSA Pride.[10] Coach Michael Steuerwald and several former Scrap Yard staffers remained with the new team.[9]
I bet the sponsors are happy to have any excuse to dump everyone and get out of this scam.
Public + Schools + Liberal Parents = Spoiled Stupid Brats
Democrat scouting party is always looking for new party members
The GM can hire other players......let the snowflakes ESAD!
This is all going t be very interesting when, not if, it comes to college football this fall. The coaches are going to go nuts.
My teenage all star softball pitcher daughter doesn’t even want to play this year because of all the lesbians starting to come out lately on her teams. They are very aggressive and making it uncomfortable to be around.
That’s what they do, they drive out the normals.
I looked for a job opening for a professional softball player.......... did not find one. MMM, guess its back to working at Walmart and moms basement.
Anyone who’s ever been through Conroe Texas knows it is a place one hopes to simply drive past.
Stewart later claimed that the tweet was an example of what she called “backhanded racism.” According to Stewart, proudly proclaiming to the president that your organization respects the flag is tantamount to making what the outlet described as “comments on a Black players natural hair, comments related to economic and social class, comments that result in a double take.”
Stokes, who is black, claimed that the tweet left her “feeling like I didn’t matter.”

OK...Ms. Stokes...You don’t like President Trump...
Then say so...Don’t give some long talk about “backhanded racism”...
Get to the point...
She felt like that she didn’t matter...Come on...Is she in elementary school or something? She is sounding childish...
Some, not all, black people would like to inject race into every discussion...She is one of those people...
I read her Twitter message in the article...She made a big deal about her being a black softball player...She tried to make some kind of connection between Floyd protests and the team GM’s twitter message...Is she stating that respecting the flag is racist? Is she stating that someone cannot show respect for President Trump after what happened to George Floyd? Why not?
All players quit with her...It is possible that they did not like President Trump in the first place...It is also possible that some players quit with her because they didn’t want to be called racist...
This softball story was ridiculous...Some black people have a deep hatred of President Trump...I don’t understand...
His criticism of NFL, regarding the protest issue, was anti-black? Come on...President Trump also criticized Megan Rapinoe, a soccer player, for protesting during national anthem...She is white, not black...
Ms. Stokes left the meeting when the General Manager mentioned that all lives matter...Really?
Ms. Stokes and her teammates could quit the team for any reason...However, it would be nice if they did not suggest that the General Manager is racist...
