CHINA has introduced a new howitzer weapon to its western borders following a fatal military clash with India in the Himalayas earlier this month.
A howitzer is short cannon-type weapon that is capable of firing projectiles at high trajectories.
The particular model that China is rolling out is called a PCL-181. These vehicle-mounted weapons are relatively new, having made a public debut at a military parade in Beijing in October last year.

China’s problem is the “pampered boy” mentality.
In India, there are several children that can take care of the family if a son-soldier dies.
China, on the other hand, due to the one-child policy, has created a bunch of men that are the only support to parents and do not trust the government to care for them if they die. China’s researched the problem and found that it could be an issue if blood starts to flow.
Not everyone is getting that.
They have a staggering advantage in hardware.
And I recall that the last time India got involved in some jet fighter ruckus, it didn’t go too well.
I was hoping India would win. Hoping is the hope in that sentence.
But why? ....China aching for a conflict they can pull the US into?
Compare and contrast with WWII-era Japan, which encouraged mothers to have a lot of babies.
Probably made based on the same set of blueprints as liberated by an H1-B...

China hasn’t fought a land battle since Vietnam kicked their ass.
India’s army is quite good.
Very true. This is perhaps the single largest restraint on China’s willingness to begin large scale military actions. However there is incredible pressure among the Generals and hierarchy of the Communist Party to not only reunify with Hong Kong but to now move against Taiwan. China wants to bloody and humiliate India in a limited war much the way Russia hurt and impressed Japan in their 1939 Manchurian war. Japan never opened a second front against Russia and China wants India to know that its best to remain silent when they engage Taiwan.

More recent, from our side.
China badly outclasses India with modern aircraft, electronics, drones, state of the art missiles, and overall armaments. They, thanks to their access to the latest US technology, are very well armed and can unleash hell on the Indian army however brave they may be. China’s generals really want a limited war to evaluate their weaponry. They also want to humiliate India.
