President Trump removed Sunday his retweet of a protest video that showed a supporter yelling “white power,” a comment that the White House said he never heard.
“President Trump is a big fan of The Villages. He did not hear the one statement made on the video,” said White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere. “What he did see was tremendous enthusiasm from his many supporters.”
The two-minute video taken at The Villages, a retirement community in Florida, showed anti-Trump protesters yelling at Trump supporters as they rolled by in golf carts decorated with pro-Trump signs and American flags.
After one man yelled “racist, racist,” a Trump supported shouted back “white power!”
Sen. Tim Scott, South Carolina Republican, said earlier Sunday that the president should remove the video, adding that he did not want to “play politics” with what he described as the “indefensible” video.
“Certainly the comment about the white power was offensive. There’s no question,” said Mr. Scott on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “I mean, we can play politics with it or we can’t. I’m not going to. I think it’s indefensible. We should take it down. That’s what I think.”
The raucous clash showed anti-Trump protesters yelling “Nazi,” “f– Trump,” “f–ing Nazi pigs,” and other profanities at the Trump supporters. One protester carried a “White Trash” sign.
“Well, listen: If you watched the entire video, you can’t play it because it was so profanity-laced,” said Mr. Scott. “The entire thing was offensive.”

They will try to nail Trump anyway they can. I will say this though, he should have have someone or a group look at his tweets before he sends them just to have a second opinion. He doesn’t have to listen to their opinion but it might have prevented his worst gaffes.
And as far as the white power stuff, I would never say it or champion it. I don’t say the n-word either. But I’m beginning to become numb to it.
It looks to me that equality is not the goal. It increasingly looks like a world where whites aren’t equal to everyone else.
IOW, whomever helps out with the President's Twitter should be looking for work. Glad that Tim Scott of South Carolina participated in the response.
Funny how the press jumped on white power as offensive but ignores the vitriolic nastiness that preceeded itfrom the left. Was it not offensive as well?
Still, Trump needs to closely inspect everything before retweeting it because there are lots of tricksters out there who are going to take advantage of such inattentiveness.

It’s coming. Either tomorrow or Tuesday. Most likely the guy on the golf cart was trolling someone calling him a racist. If it was a setup, it’s a very dangerous one for the “leftist” guy who yelled “white power!” A commenter on the original Twitter feed that this came from and Trump retweeted wanted to know who the guy was and where he worked. Of course he’s retired so no worries there but people are trying to ID him right now.
This is stupid. Just own it - and realize what he is doing: He's doing EXACTLY what a lot of people here are doing in writing (what's wrong with saying "white power when people say black power?" - except he is doing it on a golf cart. Stop making excuses for 1) His behavior and 2) Trump re-tweeting it. It is what it is. He did it because he wanted to antagonize them or he wanted to show the hypocrisy and Trump made a mistake in re-tweeting it.
But to sit here and say it is a leftist infiltrator is just ignorant. It means you haven't watched the video and don't know the background to the story (and you are not reading the other thread in which FReeperers are asking "what's wrong with what he's saying?"). So - what's so hard to believe a guy would do it if people HERE are doing it?
You nailed it! Go to the head of the class. I was ready to ask, how do we know he was a “Trump supporter”? Answer; we don’t. But your observation pretty well indicates the opposite. No true Trump supporter would yell that.

If you carefully reread my post, you’ll see I presented it as a hypothetical, a maybe. But if you just want to call names, don’t bother rereading it. Just let everything be. And maybe call me some more names.
I have no ill will towards you. But I don’t understand the name-calling. You lose half your persuasiveness when you do that.
I don’t care if the Trump supporter put bullets in the heads of each protestor calling us Nazis and racists. This is war. F them.
Tim Scott another leftist Republicans. The Republicans were the original leftist in the country and Scott is another one. He’s a racist.
