A group of protesters surrounded a Whole Foods in Washington, D.C. on Thursday night, accusing it of “[gentrifying] black and brown communities,” according to Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF) reporters covering the protests.
The DCNF reporters described that protesters were marching through the street and stopped at Whole Foods surrounding the doorway. The leader of the protesters began shouting Whole Foods is responsible for gentrifying black communities and is part of the racist capitalist system.

Whole Foods is by far not the most economical place to shop for food.
Most of the Whole Foods I’ve seen are in already established wealthy towns. You have to be doing fairly well to be able to afford shopping there frequently. Definitely overpriced.
Ok. When I look at Amazon it recently had a BLM praise popup, then an LGBTQ color flag (this morning) and also other corporations have the same and “we care, we care about the right of protest against injustice....” types of phony virtue signaling statements. I think it was Amazon that said they donated $10 million to social justice causes.
So if the corporations pay off the left then the little stooges won’t rough them up, exactly as gangsters did to shopkeepers who didn’t pay protection money?
What a country.

Protection doesn’t work without an established criminal order.
Short of paying for armed guards, I don’t see how you buy it. If there’s a dominant gang, they are your guards with payment (like the Mafia used to be; or even corrupt cops); otherwise you’d have to hire private security.
It doesn’t seem to me that “woke” political corporate bribes work to provide much protection in an anarchic society. It’s just virtual signalling to the customer base, and its become a form of competitive advertising.
Always makes me laugh, the local commune is where rich virtue signaling folks shop.
