So many commentators don't understand the biblical background to the act of kneeling and washing feet. (Biblical ignorance is such a bad influence in our society.) And of course the religious left takes Scripture out of context. As the old saying goes, a text without a context can become a pretext.
First, a little recent historical background.
Back in the 1970s, during the Jesus Movement the right kind of cultural revolution, not the one today led by neo-Marxists and their destruction, a false and evil movement we did some wonderful things. At home Bible studies, which sprang up everywhere, we occasionally did some foot-washing "ceremonies." We got a basin of water and a cloth and knelt down and washed each other's feet, or at least the feet of the person sitting next to us.
Where did we get the scriptural support for our childlike and sweet and well intentioned activity? From here:
Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him. (John 13:34, NIV)
That passage was written regarding the Last Supper, which gets an extended treatment in John's Gospel. The whole scene is personal and expresses humility the right kind. The leader (Jesus) voluntarily, to set an example, kneels and washes the feet of his disciples, even those of Judas, who left shortly afterward and betrayed him. The entire context shows that there was no coercion or guilt-tripping.

The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.
So in short : no..:Im not racist so I have committed no sin which would require me to wash someones feet (Ill ignore the question of is racism a sin )
That’ll be the day.
Assuming Black people NEED their feet washed is Racist.
What a load of happy horseshit. Who comes up with this crap?
John 13:4-14
He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.
Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.
For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.
So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?
Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
Not only NO! but HELL NO!
Stupid is as stupid does.
NO!
Neither party was ever a slave or a master. I owe them nothing. Nothing at all.
Insanity. Blacks and the left will take this madness as far as they are allowed to.
We have come a long way from the share-cropping, Jim Crow days. Over 40% of blacks classify as middle-class economically ($35000 -$100,000 annually)and I don’t know in the upper class or in lower class and poverty levels. And it gets better annually. Large numbers of blacks are lawyers and judges. Huge numbers are career employees in the government and our businesses and industries are fully integrated. The blacks themselves had little to do with this impressive rise. The white people of the nation are a good, decent people. With few dissenters, they willed it happen
IMO the shoe should be on the other foot and the black community should be demonstrating their appreciation of their good fortune they are Americans and be thanking non-black Americans for supporting them over the centuries to achieve the American dream.
There are actually foolish people who like being subjugated to someone who hates them and wants their money.
NO.
Washing someone’s feet is not done out of contrition for one’s sin. Yet another clever tactic by the Satanic inspired Marxists of the BLM movement. Using guilt and misinterpretation to manipulate weaker brothers and sisters into an action that actually will show capitulation.
Our daughter and son in law chose to humble themselves to one another, and to God, in their marriage ceremony by washing each others feet. They did it out of love and there wasn’t a dry eye at the ceremony.
The hateful force behind BLM seeks to twist and pervert a beautiful example of love, service, and honor that Christ Jesus gave us.
No.
Peach
Give em an inch. They’ll take a mile. Hell No!
Will the song WHITE CHRISTMAS be banned and all those racists associated with it?

I got triggered and replied WAY before I even finished reading the entire first post!

NEWS FLASH!!!
When we die, our bodies die, but our Souls live for ever. Humans are the only ones who have Souls. Animals don't.
Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
(More 'why'...)
To degrade oneself by shining the shoes of a black person and or warshing their feet for the sole purpose of an attempted atonement for something you had nothing to do with is ludicrous.
Furthermore, if white people don't begin to rally for each other and stand up for each other and for the truth...we are doomed to oppression in the worse sense of the word.
Want to see racism...systemic racism? Go out and research black on white crime. Research recent attacks on innocent whites by black thugs looking to simply hurt a white person.
Are all blacks like this...absolutely not. That said, I have witnessed personally, blacks that have been friendly or your friend for months/years turn on you when several other blacks are around..I guess for fear of being called a traitor or uncle Tom.
I don't know a person who ever thought slavery was a GOOD thing. Never met anyone who would lynch another..regardless of their color.
I have indeed met people who move their families from heavily black areas for fear of being a crime victim. Black, brown and whites families.
Attacks on white people have been going on for decades. In jr. high school, Southeast Houston during the days of desegregation, the feds ordered the busing of black and white students to various schools to begin the forced process of assimilating races.
I knew nothing of racism back then. Often frightened by the gangs of young blacks male/female attacking white students. Stealing everything you had. Rifling your pockets to steal lunch money, breaking into lockers and stealing tennis shoes and so forth. Being pummeled by two, four blacks simultaneously for simply being white.
It was reverse racism back then and it has not changed today. Four and a half decades I've witnessed this nonsense...looks very similar today as back then.
No one in government will dare call it out. Very few will dare help protect the lives and well being of white citizens because we somehow in their minds deserve being beaten for the sins of the past.
Black entertainment television, Black Congressional caucus, United Negro college fund, BLM, Black history month, Black beach days, Black Panthers...on and on and on.
Mention ANYTHING regarding white heritage, white pride, white accomplishments...immediately labeled a racist, bigot.
This is insanity. Again, folks, stop being afraid to stick to what is right. Being white is not a criminal offense.
White Lives Matter!
