That is exactly what they said.
Tiny little Eminence, MO will not stand down for arsonists and rioters using the national civil unrest for an excuse to burn the peoples courthouse.
They are being proactive, based on threats.
Yeah. Looka them white boys ready to kick ass. Or at least they think they are. They’re there. They’re on site, and you have to give them that right off the bat.
The short dude on the left has some muscle tone. He may be surprisingly tough to beat in a fight.
I dunno, I wouldn’t take all those guys on unless I had an M-60 with a long belt of ammo and some experience firing it.
Molon Labe. USA! USA!
My girlfriend grew up in that general area (a little south and west) and I’ve been there a few times.
It’s like going back in time. People leave their car unlocked with the window down and the key in the ignition all night and think nothing of it. It will be there in the morning, because they’re good people who don’t mess with something that doesn’t belong to them.
Respect is what it comes down to. Respect for their fellow man (who earns that respect by being worthy of it), and respect for law and order. They think in the old way, and they know there is no way to run a society without some rules, and without honoring your your fellow man.
My mom had a good friend who lived there and we visited a number of times when I was growing up. More recently, my grand daughter and her husband used to go down there and camp out with their horses for a week or so—they were into trail rides. So it’s what I would expect. Once you get a lot of outsiders moving in-it changes things a bit.
My home town in SW Mo. has about 4 times the population it had when I was growing up and it does change the culture a bit-still pretty conservative/bible belt oriented for the most part, though.
I went trout fishing on one of our visits down there a few years ago.
As time wore on, I saw more and more snakes. Just a glimpse as the tail went under a rock, or a full-on snake as it swam across the creek right next to my fishing line without a care in the world.
According to my research after the fact they were all non-poisonous (Eastern Hog-Nosed Snake) and basically harmless, but it was definitely different than what I’m used to in the north country.
Felt like I was surrounded by snakes.
I thought it was “Living in a trunk”
Yeah, coming from WA State I am quite ill at ease anywhere off the beaten path in the southeast/east. Definitely not my hood. Even in California hiking, I came onto this coral snake looking thing that somewhat freaked me out.
Turns out the “lady” who made the original threat did not show up to town today - was afraid of trouble. Indeed.
Raccoon hunting capital of Missouri
Victim was Robert Crites, 20 years old. Death ruled an accidental drowning.
Yeah. You know there are a lot of snakes when you skip a rock across the river and it breaks ones back against a rock on the far shore. A lot of turtles, too. I remember one big water snake sunning on a tree over the river.
A drunk guy got killed by a cottonmouth on a river in the Ozarks couple years ago.
It made the news b/c his family tried to blame it on external factors, whereas I believe he initially refused medical care.
Hold muh beer.
I was born in the Ozarks. You have to keep your wits about you. We moved to Oregon when I was 8. If you can keep from falling off a cliff or getting swept out to seafood, youre good. No venomous snakes to speak of in the coast.
In rural America/Missouri, the populace and the SO get along quite well. It would not be logical to assume that the armed folks are pitted against the SO. When a county has a three-officer SO, regular reinforcements are gladly accepted, often given “posse” status by virtue of acquaintance/ presence.
Weirdos from the cities (KC, STL, MEM etc) evoke a sense of “not in my backyard” to us rural folks who work hard raising our families.

That alone should gain one entry into the Graybar Hotel.
‘Surprises’ me how these thugs get to transport themselves around the country and able to join up in designated spots ‘supposedly’ undetected or the bricks that mysteriously show up on street corners.
Maybe if a local LEO sees a pile or pallet of bricks on the corner of 3d & Main a quick call to public works should have that problem cleared up.
Also, if one can’t wear a backpack to a ball game, then they shouldn’t be allowed at public gatherings AND if you don’t want to get ‘caught’ up in the pepper spray etc, keep your eye on the ‘strangers’ in the crowd, the agitators should be fairly easy to spot..REMEMBER, if you are there, they are putting YOU in ‘danger’ once the SHTF.
Not so long ago I remember when pulling into a sleepy town in the middle of the night and hitting the local Waffle House or Dennys or whatever was sure to bring out one or two ‘peace officers’ to sort of check things out.
And that was BEFORE all this crap took place.
BLM inspired new vigilantes with their own self-proclaimed authority to get “justice”.
“Red and black venom lack; red and yellow kill a fellow.”
That’s a rhyme to remember the difference between similar-looking coral snakes (venomous) and king snakes (harmless).
You can google the quote to see the difference if you’re interested.
We have rattlesnakes in the area where I live, but they’re few and far between and have to be looked for on and around rocky bluffs. I’ve never come across one, but I know people who have.
To be in an area where venomous snakes are a daily hazard would give the phrase “pay attention” a new meaning.
