EMINENCE, Mo. -- Crowds have gathered in Eminence, Missouri as a protest is expected Saturday afternoon in Shannon County.
A protest was planned in response to a death investigation dating back to 2018. A local family is concerned with how the case has been handled by the Shannon County Sheriff's Office.
The Shannon County Sheriff says credible threats were made against him, his deputies and jail staff, including threats to harm and threats to damage the courthouse and other buildings.
The sheriff says he reached out to state defense forces ahead of Saturday. The Shannon County Sheriff's Office includes the sheriff and only three other deputies, so some crowds have stationed in support of the staff.
At least 100 people have gathered in downtown Eminence around the Shannon County Courthouse and surrounding areas. KY3 observed some people carrying weapons around the area.

I don’t even remember this incident, but it involves the death of a 20 y/o man found dead in Jack’s Fork River. There was question whether it was accidental or if foul play was involved.

The family sending threats mentioned burning down the courthouse and locals who went on camera were concerned outsiders were coming in to contribute to the party, I don’t know if they meant Antifa or StL people or what.

Open carry has been legal in Ohio forever but I have only seen anyone do it once in my 50+ years.
Having lots of people do it in one place in expectation of trouble is news worthy in my book.
Considering that the ANTIFA Left is basically try to provoke a civil war, I think it is news worthy.

Reading the article it reads that some have come to protect the town/Sheriff.
Maybe those are the ones armed with no masks?
There is no opposition there now - those are all the defenders who came out to protect the courthouse and sheriff.
They were still worried some troublemakers may show up after dark.
Now that would be Soros-style.
