E-Verify has probably been the biggest letdown with Trump. Someone convinced him that the economy would die if we had it, and certainly DOES NOT have to be the case. If we really want immigrants to do the hard, physical, work, they could come as LEGAL guest workers, providing, of course, they leave their families behind and go home after their stint.
That’s how it’s done everywhere in the world, except here and Western Europe.
NOBODY ever talks about the many thousands of SS numbers that are stolen by illegals which allows them to get jobs.
ID theft is massive but not well enforced.

Mitt staked out the immigration-hardliner position in his two primary campaigns for President. Why I preferred him over amnesty-McCain. Of course it’s Mitt Romney we’re talking about, so it’s likely just for show, some kind of angle he’s running.
But regardless of what kind of game Mitt is playing the message itself is correct. We should have had E verify enforced years ago.

I still think Mitt is entertaining the idea of a coup to get Trump to step aside for him, and asking other Republicans to help him. I think they are behind this recent slump in Trump’s approval ratings for that very purpose.

If anything, I would expect him to push BIDEN out of the way. He’d have a much better chance of winning that way.
