500,000 people created accounts on the social media platform Parler after Twitter banned two conservative accounts Tuesday.
Parlers user base increased by 50% this week, bringing the total number of users to over 1.5 million, Mediaite reported Thursday. (RELATED: Jennifer Lawrence Finally Joins Twitter For This One Reason)
The surge comes after Twitter permanently banned the account of Carpe Donktum, and locked the account of The National Pulse Editor-In-Chief Raheem Kassam. Both accounts, which were locked Tuesday, have over 200,000 followers.
Conservatives, who were already frustrated with Twitter for what they say is arbitrary and unfair banning of right-wing accounts, flocked to Parler after the two accounts were suspended. Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz both joined the platform.
By deseerting twitter, you have gullibly accomplished the mission and desire of the progressive enemy
“i am one of them.”
I just signed up to Parler, primarily as a show of support for Trump.
I just followed you, I am there - @SelmaLee
@SelmaLee - I followed you both!
Thanks! Followed back. LOL, I’m opinionated too. Gets me in trouble in here sometimes when my opinion doesn’t follow the herd.
I tied it yesterday... couldn’t really find anything to read.
You are flooded with nazi stuff only if that is what you subscribe to. Gab is only following the formerly freedom defending ACLU and allowing them to have their say as long as it is not illegal. That is the ugly side of free speech. But there is a short, straight, line from banning them to banning someone who says “all lives matter”, so we have to defend their right to their free speech. Even if we despise it.
Sign me up. And I don’t even know what it is.
“show of support for Trump”
Some of the Trumps have accounts, so they know about this. PDJT need to cross post everything to Gab and/or Parler. And maybe have some exclusives that do not go on twitter. Twitter is getting ready to cancel his account, so the time to start migrating is now.
The whole fun of twitter is fighting and making fun of the other side... literally what made gab so boring, it was an echo chamber.
“to Gab and/or Parler”
Geez Gab too?? I’m not a big social media guy. FreeRepublic is the only place where I blab. I don’t have a Twitter or Facebook account.
I’ve tried to sign up three times and it won’t let me. :(
ZeroHedge has those same posters but there is a lot of good information in the comments, so you just have to wade through them.
One of the things about free speech is...it really does mean free speech. Rather than worrying about the feeble-minded being swayed by such opinions - as the Left is terrified will happen if their own voters ever discover what the American Republic really is - it is better to just put them out in the open for dissection.
People are just getting in and I figure the posting should start soon. The rapid growth sends a message to Twitter.
yes signing up REQUIRES giv8ng your cell number so they can verify you with a text. No. Way.
I was apparently a part of the wave of new Parlor users yesterday as @zeugma. Still learning the interface. Will be interested in how it goes.
“Im not a big social media guy. FreeRepublic is the only place where I blab.”
That is me, too, but these social media outlets have a lot of power, and one way to fix that is to support their competition. I firmly believe that if the Dems take over they will start a wholesale takedown of anything on the net that opposes them, including this website. I hope Jim has a continuity plan like vdare.com does. All I can say is get a VPN and learn to use Tor.
At this point, I no longer care about the opinions of the herd. LOL!
LOL, same here. I have learned to ignore them and don’t reply when they get hateful because my opinion isn’t the same as theirs.
Are we willing to give up nothing in a death match against the Left? I didnt like giving my number either, but I did it for the higher cause.
