NASCAR employees will receive sensitivity training in the coming weeks after the discovery of a garage door pull tied into a noose was found in driver Bubba Wallace’s garage and triggered a national controversy, president Steve Phelps said on Thursday.

“We'll make any changes necessary to our sanctions and our code of conduct and we will mandate that all members of our industry complete sensitivity and unconscious bias training,” Phelps said during a press conference.

Correction to my post #95. The Poacher’s Knot does slip but with extra wraps and snugged up it would serve just fine as a garage door pull without tightening easily.

I worked for Elmo Langley back in the ‘70’s...

Some of the smaller short track races, Wendell didn’t have a full crew...He would climb out of the car during a pit stop and help out changing tires or whatever...

Several times, if we went out of the race early, me and one of my teammates would go over and help Wendell’s crew...

He was a good guy...

Richard Petty Motorsports did not start until 2009. It began as Evernham Motorsports in 2000. There were a number of years where they struggled for sponsors. They ran Dodge cars back then.

There have been several changes in partners and names. There was even talk of not having enough sponsorships to last through the 2019 season.

Wallace cost them a sponsor during an iRacing event this year where he crashed early and quit. Said he didn’t take iRacing seriously.

He’ll probably pickup some new sponsors now.

Yeah...That was pretty recent...When I worked with Langley, Petty had a two car team with Richard in the #43 car and Pete Hamilton in the #40 car...

From now on, you can’t have ropes to pull down garage doors include loop ties that could be misinterpreted as nooses because the one black driver might get upset over it.

Such champions of racial sensitivity! I say remove any NASCAR advertisements that sell fried chicken while we are at it.

Someone should check to see if this guy was sighted near the garage on that day.

Petty Enterprises began over 60 years ago in Randleman N C...Papa Lee Petty first drove then Richard took over...They ran Plymouths except for one year (1969) when Richard switched to a Ford Torino...

Yep...This whole thing was BS from the start...Had to be setup...Even the dumbest crew member would’ve known that was not a “noose” but a door puller...

Petty Enterprises (formerly Lee Petty Engineering) was a NASCAR racing team based in Level Cross, North Carolina, USA. It was founded by Lee Petty with his two sons Richard Petty and Maurice Petty. The team was later owned by Richard Petty, his son Kyle Petty and Boston Ventures. At the time of its folding the team operated the No. 43 and No. 45 Dodge Chargers in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Petty Enterprises ran from 1949 until 2008. The team closed shop in January 2009 and merged with Gillett Evernham Motorsports after sponsorship could not be found for any of the cars in the Petty stable; the merged team took the name Richard Petty Motorsports, adopting a logo similar to that of Petty Enterprises’ logo.

The Nascar president is responsible for this entire incident. This is just another example that proves that he is going to play it for all it is worth. He was sent to infiltrate and destroy the conservative values of NASCAR. This guy has only been there less than 2 years and he is already doing untold damage. If you want to save NASCAR then that guy has got to go. But no one will listen until it is too late. Another God and country conservative institution is about to fall.

OK, thought I remembered multiple cars. From what I saw of Adam Petty I think he would have been great.

Yeah, like I said previously, I worked in NASCAR in the ‘70’s...

I haven’t paid hardly any attention to it since started the “cookie cutter” cars and the phases or whatever they call dividing the races...Hell, you can’t tell what kind of car it is without seeing the brand on the hood...NASCAR ain’t NASCAR anymore....

When was with Elmo, we pitted three cars...Elmo in the #64 Ford, Bill Seifert in his #45 Ford, and Raymond Williams in the #47 Ford (which he bought from Seifort)...

Phelps is a social justice warrior who got caught fostering and greatly magnifying a hoax. If he had any honor, he would resign. If he won’t then the fans should cut off the money until he is fired.

You were there when it was real. I envy you!

I will miss Sunday racing, but after what just happened I don’t know if I can support Nascar any longer.

True. But just remember that the democrats know that they can’t destroy it in a face to face fight. So they send someone to infiltrate and destroy it from the inside. Same MO for every institution. Straight from the communist manifesto. Straight from Gramsci.
