Thank you, half way home :)
Major part came in, the gear box.
Now working on the drum
It’s going to New Jersey
Howdy, PRO.
Still roasting up there, huh? I feel for ya.
We’ve gotten a bit of a break today due to cloud cover. It was muggy as heck but 77 degrees made heading out for grocery shopping bearable.
Stepping outside at all this weekend will be rough. We’re getting ready to be clobbered by a huge cloud of dust from Africa, due to hit tomorrow night. GACK!!
Good evening, radu...did the rain catch up to you yet?
Overnight, for the last 2 nights, the streets are all wet, BUT...nothing in the gauge.
Safety meeting today...”Home Office Ergonomics”. It was pretty interesting.
And no ducks for 2 days now. I wonder if a hawk got a meal. I haven’t seen a body yet. I’m hoping all the little ones are ok.
Gearbox...MAJOR for sure.
Do they have to come get it, or do you deliver?
Thanks! I had forgotten I had it. LOL! I was looking for something I hadn’t posted 20 times lately.
Guess what! Smokey came to dinner tonight! I was so relieved to see her. I petted her and encouraged her to eat. I think she’s skinnier, if that’s even possible! I went out just now and she wasn’t to be found. Might be under a bush or behind the rain barrels. But she’s at least alive!
Hope you had a good...and uneventful...day today! Did you get any rain? Is it still cooler for you? It is here for the time being.
We are delivering, well not me, someone else is.
A trucking company
Yes, hot summer is here but it's still not the dog days yet.
LOL, you know, the older I get the more I've become my Dad.
I used to chuckle that he kept the same routine when he retired. He got up at 5:00 AM, had breakfast at the same time, had lunch at the same time, etc and he went to bed at the same time....I'm doing the same thing, LOL.
I am so set in my daily routine that if I have to vary at all I get cranky, LOL.
But I guess old age and routines become comfortable and that's just the way it is.
I do know that when I visit my sister and sleep in a different bed, I just feel out of my element...and get cranky, LOL.
Speaking of my sister, I'll be staying at her place over the Independence Day weekend so I can't wait to get cranky again, LOL!
Wow, keep us informed how that dust storm goes.
How are the beans and kittehs doing?
Hey there, Kathy.
No rain here today though there were a few showers scattered around. The big stuff was south of us.
Sounds like you’re getting misty stuff overnight. Just enough to make surfaces wet but not show up in the gauge.
We have thick dust headed our way from Africa and it’ll be here tomorrow night. It’s going to be a weekend to stay inside.
no ducks for two days? EEEEK! I’m with you in hoping they’re all ok. I’ve gotten rather fond of them and have enjoyed watching the babies grow via your pix.
Nice that the meeting was interesting. You’ve had to endure plenty of boring ones over the years.
I’ve never been lucky enough to run across it when “shopping”. I’ve had the individuals on my profile page for years.
WOOHOO! SO glad Smokey showed up! I wish she’d stay put on the rug she likes so much so you can love on her some more. She needs to know she’s very welcome there so she’ll stick around and eat, eat, eat.
Pretty uneventful day, yep. Did the grocery shopping and puttered around the house. Cool and cloudy but no rain today. Just muggy. We’ll be choking on dust by Friday. Ugh!
I wish she would too. I’ve not seen any of the others attack her, but who knows what goes on when I’m not out there. Even Peaches could be the culprit. Maybe she’ll catch on.
Are y’all supposed to be getting the nasty Egyptian sand, too? Like WE need more sand, right? Maybe I’ll get a couple of nice sunset pics out of it.
Ugh, I don’t want to think about the dog days. The summer’s gotten a toasty start and I dread them.
Yeah, we get older and set in our ways. LOL!
I definitely get cranky when my routine is disrupted. Last weekend was rough because I HAD to be nice, dealing with the public. Not easy at all when I’m tired. But I didn’t hit anyone or cuss anyone out so it’s all good. :-)
Sounds like you’ll have a fun Independence Day weekend.
No plans here. No fireworks shows being put on by the towns in the area but there should be a heck of a show all around the county. People have parties and everyone takes fireworks to shoot off. We can see them from the yard of the old, empty house on the hill across the road from us. The fireworks tents all over the place opened up over the weekend and seem to be doing a brisk business.
I got most of the groceries this afternoon and will load up on dry cat food and litter tomorrow to get through the weekend. I’m not going out if I can help it while the dust is here. They said it’s the thickest cloud to come here in a long time. I hope Bella will get through it ok - that it doesn’t crank up her asthma too bad. Dust will get in the house no matter what.
Hubby’s cousin was here this afternoon and we were talking about the beans and how the leaves don’t look right. I thought it was my imagination but nope. We have a feeling Dusty planted cotton this year. He does our fields and Hubby’s cousin’s but none of us have talked to him.
Whatever he planted, it’s doing well.
And the kittehs are doing well. They’re surprisingly quiet this evening and we’re enjoying it. LOL
There’s no telling why she keeps leaving but it would be nice if she’d stay put for a while.
Yes, we’re going to be clobbered by the Saharan sand. On the map they showed of where the heaviest will hit, we’ll get more than y’all will. It comes over every year but this is the heaviest in a loooong time. And though it wasn’t mentioned, their map showed ANOTHER big cloud over the Atlantic, following on its heels. :-(
YUCKY!! What? You can’t get your own dust...you have to import it from half way around the world?
We get dust every year from Africa. It blows across the ocean with the trade winds around this time of year and we normally don't notice it much. But they said this one's exceptionally heavy and warned people with respiratory issues to be a little more careful when outside.
Accuweather has an article about it along with a radar loop showing both huge clouds. The second one wasn't mentioned during our weather forecast but I guess they'll wait until it's closer. The first one is supposed to start hitting us tomorrow night.
You know, I had never even heard of this sand till last year. I guess I thought it was smoke coming up from Mexico. LOL! Maybe we all need to wear those masks. Or not. :)
You stay safe...will it suck up any rain you might get, or be a non-issue for storms?
How's everyone doing this morning?
Good morning, E...((HUGS))...you and Gizmo ready for an adventure today? Weather good enough for exploring?
You boys have a great Thursday.
