The top public health official in Los Angeles County blamed massive protests for a spike in coronavirus cases.
Los Angeles County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer told the Los Angeles Times it was "highly likely" that the demonstrations, meant to protest against police brutality and racial injustice, contributed to the significant spike in COVID-19 cases in the city.
The virus is not done with us, Ferrer said.
More than 2,000 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Los Angeles County each day for the past three days. In the past two weeks, there were 46,735 new cases of coronavirus infection in the entire state of California, accounting for more than one-third of the state's cases since the pandemic began. The positive test rate climbed statewide, with a jump from 5.8% to 8.4% in Los Angeles County. By comparison, the rate in New York, which was the hardest-hit state in the country, has fallen below 1%.

One step closer to herd immunity.
The Grim Reaper has spoken
At least we are under 1% in New York now.
only 2 weeks and I can go to a restaurant inside. :-) the whole thing was ridiculous
the whole thing should be called the nursing home murders starring Governor Cuomo
Just another reason to despise their disregard for the law.

Still mainly old and in firmed. Have one 44 y/o. However seeing a lot of outpt pos 15-40.
I am surprised as well. I am waiting for the huge spike in NYC. There were 15,000 protestors at Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn, NY a couple of weeks ago. I am waiting to see how many were infected by them.
They’ll use this to crimp Trumps rallies.
Ya Think
No probs Blacks no needs masks
I’m sure this lady makes a 6 figure annual salary in that position and all she can say is its “highly likely” something happened that is so obvious to the rest of us? What was her last job...weather forecaster? Sheesh
this is a very weird disease..probably because it is man made
There are scientists who think some people are fighting it off with T Cells but it never gets to the stage of positive test
Others get a positive test, hospitalized, have clear cut covid sypmtoms..but end up with no antibodies
These kinds of issues are why people who swear they had the main symptoms may have really had it even though antibody test says no...also time is an issue.
Had they been tested a month later they might have had antibodies but maybe not 6 months later
This woman does not give a damn about anything except her $450,000 yearly paycheck. Liars use statistics as their tools for manipulation.
ya think?!
I took my life in my hands this morning and flew from San Jose, CA to Las Vegas, changed planes and flew to Spokane. My wife picked me up and we drove over to Hayden, ID. I went from the partly-open Santa Clara County to the fully open North Idaho. Feels weird in a way, but sure is nice.
Kootenai County in ID just had its first death last week. The very first!
I just wish they would shut the hell up about the damned virus.
Doesn’t that ghoul get paid $400K?
She needs some hair dye and a cheeseburger.
Good. If one can protest, one should be able to do whatever else he/she/it wants to. Just don't go to church!
Again, Whatever else he/she/it wants to do. Just do it and just don't go to church!
all the numbers are rubbish.
today’s big news - world will soon see 10 million cases recorded.
just over 4 million ACTIVE cases worldwide. why not quote that figure, FakeNewsMSM?
Statista: As of June 24, 2020, there were over 9.36 million global cases of COVID-19. ***Over 5 million people had recovered from the disease, while there had been around 479,900 deaths.

all this daily, faux agonizing over meaningless covid cases.
will it continue until they reach 1 billion cases?
