No he didn't. Had he done is "research" by actually pulling on the loop, he would have realized it didn't tighten around his hand. It did not tighten because it wasn't a "noose". It is actually a Kreh knot.
It doesn't slip, and anyone bothering to pull on it would have immediately realized it won't tighten, and is therefore NOT a "noose."
