In a bold move, the US moved three aircraft carriers and their accompanying strike groups to the Western Pacific, positioning them to control the South China Sea.
On Sunday, the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) and USS Nimitz (CVN 68) strike groups commenced dual carrier flight operations in the Philippine Sea. While at sea, the strike groups will support air defense drills, sea surveillance, replenishments at sea, defensive air combat training, long-range strikes, coordinated maneuvers, and other exercises.
“This is a great opportunity for us to train together in a complex scenario,” said Rear Adm. Doug Verissimo, commander of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 9. “By working together in this environment, we’re improving our tactical skills and readiness in the face of an increasingly pressurized region and COVID-19.”
All three aircraft carriers were hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, which left the US with no aircraft carriers in the western Pacific region for more than two months.
Carrier Strike Group 11 consists of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68), guided-missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59) and guided-missile destroyers of Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 9, which includes USS Sterett (DDG 104), USS Ralph Johnson (DDG 114) and Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 17.

Regardless of this show of force if you were a defense official on Taiwan and somehow Biden became President, would you reasonably assume that the United States would honor its treaties and come to the aid of Taiwan when it is attacked by communist China? The communists are reluctant to attack because they can’t be sure what Trump will do. They know Biden’s controllers will do nothing to oppose them.

You are right. Whatever treaties were signed, a Democrat Department of Justice would get a cackle of Democrat judges to rule that the treaties are “null and void”. There will be four star generals and admirals sitting in their Pentagon offices supporting the Democrats. Communists will burn the Taiwan flag on American streets. Biden and his controllers will assure the American people that there is “peace in our time”.

The dems figured out how to monetize the dismembering of Ukraine by Russia and they'd do the same with Taiwan. They are about power and power only. Political power and the power that comes from personal wealth. They don't care about anything else and principle is not even a consideration.
You are correct. There is no treaty because treaties are between nations and the US does not officially recognize Taiwan (Republic of China).
The Taiwan Relations Act is a promise that the United States made to Taiwan about providing them the necessary defense to defend themselves. It was enacted as a result of President Carter breaking relations with Taiwan and the backlash he received.
At this point if China attacked I'm not sure I'd count on the four stars to follow an order from Trump to defend Taiwan. I personally think that Trump was stopped from deploying the national guard because SecDef let him know that there would be open dissension by the pentagon leadership (including SecDef himself who already let his opinion fly in public, frankly) and that would have been a worse disaster than looking weak for not following through on his promise to end the riots (which looks bad enough).
Also the recent flare up in Japan vs China over Senkaku Islands.
