Lincoln County, Oregon, has exempted non-white people from a new order requiring that face coverings be worn in public to prevent racial profiling.
Health officials announced last week residents must wear face coverings in public settings where they may come within six feet of another individual who is not from the same household.
But people of color do not have to follow the new rule if they have heightened concerns about racial profiling and harassment over wearing the masks, officials said.
No person shall intimidate or harass people who do not comply, health officials said.
With mask requirements becoming more common, activists have raised concerns that the directives could put non-white people in danger.
For many black people, deciding whether or not to wear a bandanna in public to protect themselves and others from contracting coronavirus is a lose-lose situation that can result in life-threatening consequences either way, ReNika Moore, director of the ACLUs Racial Justice Program, told CNN.
Trevon Logan, who is black, said orders to wear face coverings are basically telling people to look dangerous given racial stereotypes that are out there.
This is in the larger context of black men fitting the description of a suspect who has a hood on, who has a face covering on, Logan, an economics professor at Ohio State University, told the outlet.
It looks like almost every criminal sketch of any garden-variety black suspect.

Now there is racism!

t’s either a “public health crisis” or it isn’t. It’s really that simple.
It’s either a “public health crisis” or it isn’t. It’s really that simple.
Aclu doesnt care about your rights. Any of them.
Someday there will be sit ins and protest demonstrations by black reverends and they will prod Congress to pass laws against all forms of discrimination and segregation of application of laws by skin color. Oh, wait./s
Yeah! They are preventing racial profiling by... racial profiling.
Idiots.
are they saying that all people are suspicious of Blacks???
Hmmmmm. they’re right.
Too many people from Portland and California. Not black people though. Lincoln County got more diverse between 2000 and 2010, going from being .3% black to .4% black. Same percentage as my home county, which is three south of it on the coast.
Tell them you identify as “Person of Color”. If they protest that you are so white you glow in the dark tell them that since they can see you there is color present. Therefore it follows logically that you are a Person of Color and this stupid rule does not apply to you.
If you’re white, then just tell them you’re black.
Who are they to say???
The unconstitutional kind!
This is not a sane country anymore.
Trevor Logan said “given racial stereotypes that are out there”
Yep, nothing more than a baseless stereotype, Trevor. Trevor should take a trip to the South Side of ChiTown and see how baseless the stereotype really is.
When I worked in China in the 70s I thought the stereotype of the Chinese eating rice was just that, a silly stereotype — I was wrong. I thought the same thing about Mexicans eating tacos and enchiladas until I worked in Mexico. I discovered lots of stereotypes are based on reality.
I’ve been verbally accosted, roughed up, shaken down, and sucker punched five times in my life (Ithaca, NY; Columbus, OH, three places in CA). Every single time it was by you-know-who.
So, you know, obviously, no white person can wear a mask now, unless they’re know know, a doctor, etc. I sure as heck wouldn’t wear one. Unless this is some stupid pandering, which it is of course, but I mean REALLY REALLY stupid pandering, essentially a moot instruction because there just aren’t any black people to speak of in that neck of the woods.
Is this from the Onion this cant be real, maybe the Bee what the hell!!!
Oregon ping
A new low of White woke cuck bullshit, blatantly unconstitutional, racist and idiotic.
