In New Mexico, on June 15, the police were pulled back, refusing to arrest people as they attempted to destroy public property. Leftist media called the situation a protest. It was a propaganda event meant to intimidate and demoralize.
Residents of the area, including local militia members, attempted to prevent the destruction of the statue. Mindful of a hostile, leftist media, armed militia members were careful not to engage in violence, or to be baited by leftist agitators.
Steven Baca, a former political candidate, was videoed scuffling with leftists who were working to destroy the statue. He appears to have taken the bait of one or two leftist women, shoving them out of the way, or pulling/pushing one to the ground. The local militia have said Baca is not associated with them.
Baca decided to retreat from the event, perhaps after being threatened by masked leftists. He is struck with a green skateboard, wielded by a masked man in black clothes, but remains upright and continues to retreat. A group of leftists pursue him, strike him again, and knock him to the ground. As he is on the ground, being attacked, he fires a pistol four times, striking one of the attackers. One of his attackers has a skateboard. It may be the person who struck him earlier, but it is not clear.

A few seconds later a person is seen running from the area, holding a skateboard.

KRQE characterized the incident as militia members firing at protestors. From krqe.com:

Baca was on the ground when he fired.
Now I understand why ‘journalists’ (read:propagandists) get treated so badly in Mexico...It’ll come to that here too.
“...now claims he was trying to hit Baca’s gun from his hand.”
Skateboard guy couldn’t possibly have aimed for and struck the gun without hitting Baca’s hand. Skateboard vs hand is assault.

Great reporting, thanks, sharing as widely as I can.
What does Mexico have to do with this?
It is noteworthy imho that the skateboard was removed speedily from the scene (by allies of the “protestors” one presumes). We have read elsewhere of these skateboards being modified to make them more dangerous/deadly.
I’m of the opinion that there needs to be more defensive shootings of these punks.
“Mess with the bull, get the horns.”
Just make sure that you have a self defense plan card in your wallet.
I use Second Call Defense.
It is my understanding that the guy that hit Baca with the skateboard is or was in the hospital recovering from gun shot wounds. He should be very thankful that he isn’t in the cemetery on the wrong side of the grass. He attacked an armed man with his skateboard after the armed man had tried his best to distance himself from the likes of the man with the skateboard. The man with the skateboard got what he deserved. Oh, how I would like to serve on the jury that tries Baca if a jury is needed. Baca should not be charged because he was defending himself from possible death or serious injury.
A few weeks ago there was a man in Dallas who tried to defend his business; it appears he did not have a gun. The mob set upon him and beat him senseless. I’m uncertain whether he lived or died.
The point is that when the mob attacks in such a frenzy and with such a disproportionate response to pushing and shoving, you must be prepared to defend yourself or suffer critical injuries that alter you for the rest of your life if indeed you actually survive. Baca made a good decision to be armed even if he was charged because he didn’t have a concealed carry permit; it very likely saved his life, a good tradeoff given what would likely have been the other result.
To paraphrase Candidate Obama in 2008, they bring a Skateboard, we bring a Gun.

Below are the comments of police and his attorney who has put out the most unbelievable spin:
Police say 39-year-old Scott Williams was shot several times in the torso and is in critical but stable condition at University of New Mexico Hospital.Laura Schauer Ives, an attorney for the family, said Williams has devoted his life to seeking equality and justice for all.
When Steven Baca repeatedly attacked peaceful protestors in Albuquerque last night, Scott took bullets for the community he cares about, Schauer Ives said in a statement. While he did, the Albuquerque Police Department hid behind the Albuquerque museum, refused to respond to multiple requests for help, and only sent officers in once shots were fired.

It would be interesting to know something about Scott Williams’ life history. For example does he live in his mother’s basement? What sort of educational background does he have?. What sort of job does he have if any?
He was pretty old to be Antifa. 39-year olds typically move on with their lives, try to advance the ladder at their place of employment, get married and have a family. Frankly he seems a case of arrested development.
We just re-watched Back to the Future. Never imagined a skate board used as a weapon.
Do the skateboards have metal edges to prevent wear? When swung by a protester it is very much an effective weapon.
I hope skateboard guy poops from a bag the rest of his miserable life.
There is a picture of his attacker with a knives in both hand. Why not mentioned? Attacker with knives well within 21 feet. Seems an important fact.
