Mask-wearing for some people is an identifier of broader beliefs and political leanings. Like so many issues rooted in science and medicine, the pandemic is now fully entangled with ideological tribalism. This has played out before: helmets for motorcyclists, seat belts in cars, smoking bans in restaurants. All of those measures provoked battles over personal liberty.
Now its masks and the coronavirus, with face coverings emerging as an emblem for what cleaves the nation. A flurry of recent studies supports wearing cloth face coverings as a means to limit transmission of the novel coronavirus, which causes the illness covid-19. To many people, masks represent adherence to civic duty and a willingness to make individual sacrifices for the greater good of public health. To others, masks symbolize government overreach and a violation of personal liberty.

Motorcycle helmets increase the need for organ donors, no helmets increases the supply of organs.
The virus is so small it passes right through the masks. Someone compared it to putting up a chain link fence to keep mosquitoes out.
Also, wearing a mask to hide identity. I suspect MANY do it for that reason.
Chain link works for Louisiana skeeters. :-)
Covidism is the left’s new religion. Its symbol is “the mask”.
It is the symbolism of: defeat, conquered, humiliation, failure, uselessness, rejection, helplessness...and the communist list goes on and on. They want to force this crap on America as much as they can.
Sure screws up the facial recognition efforts. Ball cap, full neck/face mask and sunglasses. Who was that masked man?
Heh, heh. Them’s some big skeeters.
Yeah I’ve worn one exactly 2 times, and that was only because I was required to, to get into where I needed to go. I’ve heard so many conflicting reasons why you should or shouldn’t I just said screw it. I also live in a very low infection/death risk area.

I remember not to awfully long ago my bank wouldn’t allow you to even wear sunglasses inside...I guess that ship has sailed.
“...Someone compared it to putting up a chain link fence to keep mosquitoes out....”
Yeah. I posted that. But I can’t take credit for its originality. A local friend of mine blurted it out as we were discussing the communists’ ongoing Plandemic. We both busted out laughing after he said it.
And yeah....I can attest for the mosquitos over there Louisiana. Those darn things can stand flat-footed and kiss a turkey square on the lips.
I’m definitely a no masker, and I think covid is way overhyped, but a mask doesn’t need to catch a virus, but rather the droplets that contain them to reduce the plume.
Same here.
Youll be happy to know that Apple has developed a facial recognition system that can work with just the exposed, upper part of the face. Its for phones and tablets unlocked by facial recognition. Well, among other purposes.
Nobody’s worried about spreading the virus unless its at a Trump rally.
There were videos of looters in Rochester that wore masks but after they got into the shop they took them off. I guess they didn’t see the security cameras in the store that caught excellent images of the looters.
The guy should've told the Karen to practice social distancing.
