They tore down the statue of confederate general Ulysses S. Grant because he fought to maintain slavery. This was before the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor, right?

And way before Charlie Chaplin waged war on the world using dinosaurs.

How long before San Francisco changes its name?
They will either research and find the name of some obscure Indian village on the peninsula or rename it after Cesar Chavez. If they put it up for a city referendum, it will pass overwhelmingly.

It was an honest question on my part. I see misstated facts on FR every day - in growing volume. No offense intended and not a hostile question.
Like I said, "Bless your heart".

I don’t have any answers but just wringing our hands over all this is not the best. Outside the box thinking to counter this evil and stupidity is needed. Here is what I would do for now. Gather up the remains and transport them to a guarded facility. Hire people who can restore the statues. Figure out new places for them to be placed. On private property, well guarded. Who knows maybe a new museum. The damaged Pieta in the Vatican was restored and is still there albeit now well guarded. Same with the damaged Liberty Bell attacked by a similar nut.
