School officials in Camden announced a plan this week to rename 90-year-old Woodrow Wilson High School.
The decision came after a concerted grassroots effort, including a Change.org petition a year ago, to drive support for the measure.
I will be leading the charge with a committee made up of community, alumni, students and administrators as we explore a new name for Woodrow Wilson High School, Camden Superintendent of Schools Katrina McCombs said Tuesday during a virtual school advisory board meeting. This is a process that must be done in a collaborative manner. We thank the many community members who raised the concern about the school being named after an individual who expressed and demonstrated racist values.
Wilson, a Democrat, was president of the United States from 1913 to 1921. Prior to being elected president he was the governor of New Jersey from 1911 to 1913. He was born and raised in Virginia.
Wilson, the first southerner to be elected president since 1848, has been both praised and vilified for his administration. He racially re-segregated parts of the U.S. government.

Yale is named after Elihu Yale, slave trader.
Wilson’s rabid racism was a well-kept Democrat Party secret for decades—guess they are ready to become the Donner Party.
But... But Wilson was a Progressive how could he be a racist.
Time to cancel the DNC.
That’ll make Glenn Beck happy.
This is one of the very few times a name change may be a good idea. I have heard about Mr. Wilson and his influences.
Glenn Beck informed me a few years back.
Ok, well as long as we’re erasing Wilson’s legacy, let’s get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US!
Alert me when they retitle or tear down a Republican politician.
Ok, dems. Time to tear down the fdr memorial. that guy was a damn racist if anyone was.
I'm no historian, but I think it was Wilson's administration that set the wheels in motion for the centralization of power in the US away from the people, setting the stage for the Deep State of this era. It wouldn't surprise me if this year, 100 years later, was intended to bring on the culmination events of the grand scheme to transform our Republic into their own personal Duchy.
Fortunately Trump is spoiling the big celebration they planned.
What about FDR (Jews)?
LBJ (blacks)?
Shouldn’t the entire Kennedy clan be ostracized because they are related to Joe Kennedy (Jews)?
The conundrum they face. Wilson was both a racist and a leader in the creation of the New World Order.
Woodrow Wilson was a bastard, not just for being a racist, but this renaming campaign is out of hand. I haven’t seen this much renaming since the Kennedy Assassination.
Bastard got us into WWI, by using Propaganda methods that inspired Josef Goebbels.
Camden. When I went to school in Philly in the 60’s, it was the murder capital of the state, a real shithole of incompetence, stupidity and lawlessness.
Let’s change their name from “Camden” to “Murderville”. I like to tell the truth.
FDR, the “greatest” Democrat icon was certainly a racist too. Should we not forget he issued Executive Order #9066 which sent over 100,000 Japanese Americans to internment camps during WWII? He also nominated one Hugo Black to the Supreme Court who at one time was an active member of the Klan. Roosevelt did nothing to stop the Jim Crow laws and the segregation of Blacks from public facilities in the South. FDR is an acronym for F**king Democrat Racist!
There is Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, California...It is near California State University, Long Beach...
There is also Woodrow Wilson High School in Los Angeles, California...It is near California State University, Los Angeles...
I wonder if names of those schools will be changed...
Yes, about time Wilson gets called out!
When will Princeton University purge itself of connections with Woodrow Wilson (former university president)?
Will the Woodrow Wilson School of Public Affairs be renamed?
They declined to change the name in 2016. Will they do it now?
Will the houses he occupied in Princeton be burned down?
Let’s see how hypocritical the ivory tower liberals at Princeton really are.
