A labor strike is brewing in the NYPD.
A pair of fliers making their rounds among NYPD officers are encouraging them to call out sick July 4th as retribution for police reform and a perceived anti-cop climate following the outrage over high-profile police killings of unarmed black men across the country, multiple cops told The Post.
One message calls for the strike to kick off at 3 p.m. July 4.

It’s a grand gesture, but cleanup is going to be a bitch.
It would be nice if DeBlasio’s blue slaves (bodyguards, chauffers, valets) would join in.
Liberal commentator Tom Braden (now deceased), often told the story of his daughter being raped at Fourth of July celebration in DC, many years ago .... can’t imagine things are any better in NYC
The police didn’t ask for this war but, they may well be the ones to finish it.
BluFluNow.
I say why not. Allow the peace to spread on Independence Day.
If they strike, Cuomo will sic his Trump-hating Attorney General Letitia James on them using the Taylor Law. Correctional Officers in NY State went on strike in 1979, and were out for several months. The National Guard was called up to cover for the striking officers. When it was over, the Union settled for nothing more than what was in the original contract offer. The officers felt betrayed. Each officer that went out was fined two days for each strike day. Many of them were paying the fines off for years.
This is what I was waiting for. The police in blue cities that are under attack to fight back and give them a Day Without Police so they have a taste of what is means to defund or disband the police.
” The National Guard was called up to cover for the striking officers.”
I can see it now: unarmed and unshielded NatGuards facing the horde. Besides, if the Guard is called up, the left will accuse Cuomo of being a tyrant. Appeasing the horde is a sure way to fail and Cuomo and that communist mayor have done both.
What could go wrong?
The Blue 4th!
I think they picked that day knowing full well that firecrackers handily cover up the sounds of gunfire.
