did not properly weigh how ending the program would affect those who had come to rely on its protections against deportation, and the ability to work legally

I'm kinda begging Trump to pass an EO that would:

1) prohibit prosecuting anyone for firearm possession, that wasn't used in a serious crime

2) Prohibit prosecuting anyone for firearm possession that received it from a parent ...(Hey I didn't but it)

3) etc.

The 5 to 4 decision was written by Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and joined by the court’s four liberals.

Roberts is one of the court's liberals. He's enacted a new precedent - executive orders signed by a Democrat president can't be revoked by a Republican president.

Robets’ string pullers run the country.

Be a shame for them when he leaves the court.

“I know many FReepers think we can stop this at the polls but it’s just not true anymore.”

People voted for Bush with the understanding that he was soft on illegal immigration.

Therefore, they should not expect his appointment to the SCOTUS to be hard on illegal immigration.

Agreed.

BUT i’m talking about the larger picture.

which is wholesale violence in many places.

Having a republican president and having the senate are doing nothing for that.

And ok so local politicians should speak out.

they are. in favor of blm and antifa.

If people think it will never move from the cities to the suburbs, they’re wrong.

The only difference is many of us will defend ourselves.

They desire to destroy all of the united states. that must include going into gun owning areas after they are well enough armed and trained themselves.

and then a lot of people on both sides will fall.

and that would be awful

Trump can stop Daca by following the correct procedure .
Trump extended this Daca program three years ago when it was scheduled to end .
Posters here warned. not to do that.
Ivanka was upset and he wanted to play amnesty game with Congress .
Now Trump will have to show he is serious or not.

We won the White House but the opposition holds both houses of Congress (Rs in the Senate and Ds in the House); that is why this looks like the end of GWB’s second term, or the end of Obama’s. Just agenda obstruction of the President...

Essentially, the problem we have is executive orders. They are not “law” pursuant to our constitution.

SCOTUS is now doing the same thing - essentially “legislating” by fiat what is in effect an executive order.

This problem was illustrated in the Obama Care decision where Roberts effectively “rebranded the legislation” as a tax despite the authors of Obamacare and Obama himself denying that it was a tax. Presto - we had Obama Care.

The constitution does not provide a framework for either the President to legislate via executive order (outside of some extreme situations) or SCOTUS to do the same, but that is where we are. Trump correctly assumes he can overturn his predecessors executive orders as he is the new executive, but the left is able to keep some of them via the courts.

Obama used executive orders freely to impose his legislative will upon the American people. Congress has abdicated their constitutional role to the executive (when it suits their needs) and SCOTUS.

Our system is becoming dysfunctional because of this. Then again, our “legislature” is incapable of writing a simple one page bill to address a specific thing because it is far more lucrative and beneficial to the swamp to make every piece of legislation 3000 pages that are written by lobbyists and everyone gets pretty much everything they want on a 1000 issues despite whatever they label it. Our kids just get left with the bill.

Our system of government has gone off the rails. Our constitution demands that congress legislate, SCOTUS follows the legislation and decides differences, and the President enforces it. Congress writes purposely crappy legislation, SCOTUS interprets it (usually to the left ironically), and the President is made feckless.

Roberts has become a nightmare liability. Not sure what the DemocRATs have on him, but whatever it is it’s working.

DACA was an executive order... Can one executive order not be rescinded by another? He’s basically saying executive orders by Obama, trump executive orders by Trump. That’s nonsensical and very political. Courts are supposed to stay out of politics.

So, the Constitution exists for illegals and queers and nobody else. Thanks, elites, we already knew that, but confirmation bias is quite a high.

“The 5 to 4 decision was written by Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr.” who was appointed by George W. Bush who was nominated as President by the Republican Party knowing full and well Bush’s stance on immigration.

Good point. The Bush family's burning hatred for Americans and their unrelenting goal of ending the USA in favor of a merged state with Mexico is part of the mix here.

So, the president did try to end DACA, but the Supreme Court would not allow it. Somebody tell Ann Coulter before she blows another gasket. No, Ann, we are not ‘there yet’, and we may never be, at least not for a couple of years.
