The Atlanta officer who fatally shot Rayshard Brooks in the back after the fleeing man pointed a stun gun in his direction will be charged, a prosecutor said Wednesday.
Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard made the announcement about officer Garrett Rolfe during a news conference. Rolfe had already been fired after he fatally shot Brooks, 27, on Friday night.

The Left would view this as a win-win scenario.
If he is convicted, they get an innocent police scalp. If he is acquitted, they get to have more riots, which is what they want.
Hell, he could be convicted, and they would get even more riots because both cops weren't put to death immediately.
Drunk driving arrests are a scam so lawyers can get rich. If you ended them now and just put drunks in cabs or drove them home. The attorneys would revolt. Charge $10,000 fine instead of jail.
“Drunk driving arrests are a scam so lawyers can get rich”
It the city of Atlanta, DUI arrests keep the lights on.
If I was a cop, I would be looking for an exit about now.
Lots of pension $$ that would be walked away from.
Lefties would be a-okay with that. They could use that $$ to fund 0bamas Army/New Police Force.
Whatever became of the 300-400 NYPD officers that were rumored to turn in their notices? Any updates, on that? (Not the dissolution of the plainclothes dept. - this was actual officers who were to be quitting force.)
A fair jury would acquit him
I don’t know why anyone would submit themselves to a Nazi style show trial at this point.
The law doesn’t matter. The law has been weaponized to
Sniveling worthless scum have infected the courts and the legal “profession” and pompously look down their noses at the people that they use the law to oppress.
The law now protects terrorists. It is the definition of tyranny. Far too many people look at “the law” as if it is something good. It isn’t. At least not the way that it is now being used.
Why submit yourself to being railroaded?
If they are going to put you in a show trial, it would be better to die for something than to quietly submit to tyranny.
Maybe then the politicians would see that they have pushed too far.
No, it was Brooks' actions that caused this
Doesn’t matter. There is a point when you are morally and even legally obligated to render aid. A civilian wouldn’t get away with standing on a guy and kicking him and not calling an ambulance. And a civilian doesn’t have a job with the motto “to serve and protect”. Self defense is NOT carte blanche, when the danger ends the duty begins.
It looks like we will find that out.
Rolfe arrives and ratchets up the intensity, without any reason. Moron thinks he's playing a video game. Never told Brooks "ok, since you failed the test, we are going to have to cite you for DUI, etc" and tell him other consequences (license suspension, etc). Just says ok and tries to slap the cuffs on. Just godawful policing.
DA....wrasseling on the ground
AKA assault on a police officer.
Seems a bad decision.
Even manslaughter will be difficult to convict.
Political charges without investigation is stupid.
You kick the body to make sure there will be no response.
Rashard sealed his fate when he attacked the officers and then ran.
Just so everyone can see the double-standard and how mob rule basically rewrote “the law” because Soros operatives now are DAs.
This incident was from 2018:

There’s about to be an exodus of cops in the APD.
Hope they give it all to the ferals and it becomes Detroit.
I know you're just itching to see this cop put away for life, but if he gets a good lawyer and people see the videos it's obvious he had no choice.
Well I guess I see your point from this narrow scope, but my general argument has been all of corporate America has gone leftist to the point where it is impossible to not give your money to companies who in turn use it to support the Dems (ie. banking, retail, food, transportaiont, etc).
Lately I have been making alot of posts about this, but I guess I forgot not everyone follows all of my opinions :).
The jury in Atlanta has already found him guilty, they just haven't assigned them yet.
Except for a couple of things. One, Atlanta police policy says you do not shoot fleeing suspects in the back. Two, the shooting does not seem to meet the guidelines for use of deadly force on fleeing suspects that the Supreme Court laid out in two cases, Tennessee v. Garner and Graham v. Connor. The court ruled that use of deadly force on a fleeing suspect was not justified unless "the officer has probable cause to believe that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others." Brooks was fleeing. He was unarmed except for the Taser which the officer knew had been fired twice and therefore posed no further threat. Shooting him did not meet the requirements of the Garner decision. Add to that the fact that witnesses stated that once he shot Brooks Rolfe shouted "I got him". And the fact that there apparently video of him kicking Brooks' body. And the fact that they didn't call for medical assistance for an period of time. All adds up to the 'depraved indifference' that the prosecution needed for the murder charge. Finally the other officer, Brosnen, is turning state's evidence. It doesn't look good.
Political charges without investigation is stupid.
You assume no investigation was done. They have video out the wazoo. They have the ballistics report and the autopsy. They had more than enough to charge.
Unless you blindly support police officers in every instance then you're anti-police. I agree completely with Trump when he says there are a tiny minority of officers who shouldn't be on the job, and decent people should stand solidly behind the good ones and against the bad ones. And this is a case of a bad officer who killed someone unnecessarily and should pay the price for his actions.
