Top Senate Republican Mitch McConnell says he's "OK" with renaming military bases that are named after Confederate Army officers, declining to side with President Donald Trump and other Republicans opposed to the move.
The Kentucky senator said he'll live with whatever lawmakers decide as they debate an annual defence policy bill for the military in the coming weeks.
Trump has blasted the calls to rename the military bases. "Hopefully our great Republican Senators won't fall for this!" he said in a tweet last week.

Is Mitch trying to throw the election? He undercuts the President and deflates GOP enthusiasm at one stroke. The Left never gives up, stays united, and always seeks power and control. Republicans run off in various directions and won’t stand their ground as a group.
McConnell is a weak fool. The idiot is clueless. Does he believe for a moment it ends there? Every concession energizes these people. Even you change the name of the capitol,remove the monuments and destroyed Rushmore it would make no difference, none.

Someone ought to ask him how far is he going to bow to mob rule. If that’s his plan then the country does not need him as a legislator let the mob make the laws.
