Texas Democrats asked the Supreme Court on Tuesday to review its efforts to expand mail-in voting eligibility to all voters amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The state Democratic Party and several Texas voters told the justices that requiring widespread in-person voting poses health risks as the states July primary runoff and November general elections draw near.
[M]illions of Texas voters will face the agonizing choice of either risking their health (and the health of others) to vote in person or relinquishing their right to cast a ballot in two critical elections if the Supreme Court doesnt act, the litigants argued.
Under current Texas rules, only voters with a qualifying reason advanced age, disability, incarceration or planned travel can mail in ballots.
The Supreme Court petition is the latest development in a months-long push to expand the definition of disability to include those with concerns about the potential health implications of in-person voting, which has sparked months of fighting in both Texas state and federal courts.
Texas Democrats told the justices that by limiting the right to cast mail-in ballots to those 65 and older, the Texas rules violate the Twenty-Sixth Amendments bar on abridging the right to vote based on age.
The Tuesday filing comes just weeks after a federal appeals court halted a Texas-based federal trial court order that would have required election officials to broaden mail-in voting eligibility.
In issuing a stay of the lower court order, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit appeared sympathetic to the claim by Republican officials in Texas that mail-in voting is especially susceptible to fraud.

Beto ORourke Turns Attention to Texas Legislature in 2020
Texas Ping.
It is possible to make mail-in ballots secure. Start with serial numbers for each ballot. Spread out from there.
But a blank generic ballot. No way.
They must be really afraid that there aren’t enough normal fraudulent votes to win.
you mean back to blue or red...whichever it was back then.
It used to go Dem all to time.
What a pile of crap. I am sure this will go to the dems as usual.
Except through theft or fraud, there is no other way they can win
The liberal SC will rule in favor of the Democrats.
Putt the polling locations in all Walmarts because it is just fine to go in there for hours on end.
.
I am sure Gorsuch will invent a textual reason to let Texas vote by mail and vote blue. Go Gorsuch.
As I look around, I'd have to say the libs/dems/monstrously evil number of people OUTNUMBERS us. IF they ALL voted, they could win without theft or fraud.

Not even then. There are several ways to cheat big time with mail voting. What you suggest only fixes one.
I wouldn’t leave a menu choice up to the meat heads on the SCOTUS.
another big cheating device is "provisional" ballots/early voting, they had hundreds of activists standing in a revolving line for Obama in '08 at the LA county Recorder's office. I witnessed it with my own eyes.
Yes vote cheating is very much alive.
one big fear I have is a vote cheating "false flag" event to pin on Trump
soon the electoral college will be moot as well
Absolutely NOT!...ping
The only voting that should be allowed is in-person voting with a paper trail. Anything else, unless implementing controls that would not be feasible, is subject to corruption. The democrats have learned how to corrupt even in-person voting.
the problem is dissapearing and un-counted ballots. Mail in ballots are a socialist wet dream.
***************
Perfect description of the state of Washington, which has all mail in ballots.
A Rat Texas would be the end of us. There would never be another Republican presdent ever again. Eventually, SCOTUS would have 9 Marxist jurists and life and we know it would rapidly end.
