That was the plea of Rodney King after a Simi Valley jury failed to convict any of the four cops who beat him into submission after a 100-mile-an-hour chase on an LA freeway.
King's plea came after the 1992 LA riots, the worst since the New York City draft riots in 1863 when Lincoln had to send in federal troops.

Regarding the New York City riots in 1863, those were very anti-black in sentiment because New York City depended a great deal from the cotton and other trades from the South which involved slavery. Therefore, many there wanted slavery kept in place as not to interfere with such business as well as also not wanting freed blacks coming to New York City and taking labour jobs from the many Irish immigrants living there. Democrat Tammany Hall politicians also wanted to separate New York City from the abolitionist state government in Albany, as well as being very much opposed to Lincoln on that front.
Where is the petition to drop Washington from Washington, DC?
These people have no interest in “justice”.
What they want is revenge.

Poor Irish immigrants were being conscripted to fight a war in which blacks weren’t being conscripted.

The democrat controlled media deliberate miss portraying the six foot seven inch 200 plus pound Floyd as an innocent black who was being forceably restrained because he was black not because he was resisting arrest.When He was legitimately arrested for passing a counterfeit $20 dollar bill he was resisting arrest and was a threat if not secured. But the media was not mentioning his size or reporting that Floyd was removed from a squad car because he was acting up under the influence of drugs and also later was discovered to have COVID 19. Which suggests his physical condition may have led to his death which the media turned into a murder change and a charge of serious abuse by police because of police efforts that were tried to get him who under control. If Obama had urged blacks to believe in the justice system and comply with the police would we be confronting his use of creating racial division now ?
The results of politically induced miss reporting incidents where blacks have resisted legitimate arrest began to be used earlier during and after the post Zimmmerman trial, then on to the Ferguson episode. Obama’s abuse of the “Bully Pulpit” which seemed to promote resistance to legitimate arrest led to black gangs attacking non blacks found innocently traversing black neighborhoods and to a score of murders or life changing injuries and later attacks of theft and vandalism on local businesses as well as attacks and murders of police officers during that period
Agreed and I recall reading also that there was resentment toward upper class families on the Union side who were able to proxies to people to serve in their place if conscripted.

Throughout all of this I’ve wondered where the Native Americans have been. If ever there was a group of folks who got screwed six ways to Sunday, it was them.

After the Mexican-American War, the US government realized they couldn’t staff Irish units with only Protestant officers; their disgust at the destruction of Catholic church buildings during that campaign, combined with miserable conditions in general (more troops died from sickness than combat), led to high desertion rates and even the formation of a Mexican army unit composed of Irish deserters/prisoners (the San Patricios).
The American Indians are the model for what blactivists truly want: Welfare for life with no strings attached, and no expectations of contribution of any kind. Some Indians leave the reservations and integrate, while others sit back and watch the world pass them by.
