“Black Austin Matters.” Those are the words being painted in bright yellow Tuesday morning on Congress Avenue between Sixth and Ninth streets downtown. The Austin Transportation Department started on the message bright and early. “Congress Avenue is a canvas of our city,” the Transportation Department’s tweet said. “From marathons to marches, stories are made here. Some don’t have the chance to tell their stories, so this morning we have them the canvas.”

Loved it...when it wasn’t in the dealer’s repair shop.

Had an early 50s Jag. Beautiful car. Electrics by Lucas, Prince of Darkness. 6-volt positive ground system. I feel your pain.

I only had it for 18 months - even that was far too long.

It was a blast to drive, though - like a slightly oversized gocart.

I still recall my wife and I would take it out on 2-lane country roads at night in the winter with the windows rolled up and the heater going full blast. Those 90-degree country road turns at night was quite the thrill...

I forgot to mention the top was down during those winter “rallys”.

Now there’s a movement I could get behind!

Beautiful car.

Remember Rush explained to Barbara Walters in a TV interview: "I have always been a fan of the women's movement. Especially when walking behind them."

That was like my ‘75 FIAT X1/9. Fun to drive like a go-cart that can go 100mph.

But it was always needing repair of something.

Probably spent more time UNDER IT than IN IT!.........

Repair shop.....Piker.

My first car was a MG Midget. Those rascals will make a mechanic out of you quick. Then a couple Spifires and a GT6. Then bigger sports cars.

Always wanted an 3000 though. Almost bought one with a 350 in it once.

....I gotcha beat... got off of active Navy duty in spring of 1965, and having more money than sense bought a brand-new MGB with my saved-up Navy pay.... a beautiful Iris Blue with black leather seats...of course, the electrics were from Lucas, “The Prince of Darkness” as various light bulbs started to fail, dashboard instruments stopped working, and the body rust after 5 years was awful... still, I loved that car and wish I had it today.........

For those of us That grew up celebrating the vision of MLK , BLM dilutes everything he fought for.

Why do Brits like warm beer?

Because Lucas makes their refrigerators too.
