Very good article. He assigns a lot of blame to the media for keeping this going and says we need media reform. And he’s IN the media.

"But today feels different and more hopeless- -- only because we can’t find a solution, at all.

There is a solution. You just the will to do it. FOX News is not the nirvana of jobs. As conservative as he sounds on television, he still has the big city mindset that someone needs to look after my safety. Look after your own safety. Move. Do something but do not wait for someone to do it for you.

If the media took its foot off the racial gas pedal and put it on the training and policy lever, we would not only make real progress in policing, we might even save a country – the greatest country that ever was.

Very good piece, well worth reading.

However, while it is gratifying to see the media correctly blamed by a member of the media, pressing the "training and policy lever" won't do anything. I have read that nine (9) unarmed blacks were shot and killed by American police in 2019, according to the Washington Post. Does anyone believe that reducing that number to zero would make the slightest difference?

"Institutional racism" is not the problem.

For years, my husband and I lived in places that cost under $50 per month. Our big place was in Old Town Chicago where we have a one bedroom walk up for $150/mo. Then we paid $15 to live in our van in front of a “commune.” It was burned down by one of the occupants. (The commune, not the van). We continued to live there until my husband’s father loaned us $4K as a down payment on a small duplex (both sides). We then used his GI bill to buy another duplex and keep the first one. I won’t bore you with our odyssey. But we now have a portfolio of about $500K in real estate, probably more... all paid for. Other assets, we’re doing okay in our retirement, aging and recovering hippies. We’ve worked hard, me as a lawyer, Mr. Mercat as a designer and then a property manager. We raised three children, lost one. It’s been hard but we have been blessed. I’m a prepper now. I don’t assume that this nice life we have will continue. I could never live in NY. We live in the country. In a small underpopulated state. I love it.

... a specific taste for Balenciaga.

Will the fashion become Wrangler jeans, a plain pocket T, unmarked tennis shoes and flip phones?

Will only the thugs sport designer duds, iPhones and branded shoes?

It’s like the ghetto fashion for diamonds in the teeth and masses of heavy gold chains.

I’m glad I live in the land of no-name clothing without logos, sturdy hiking boots and John Deere caps. Maybe folks buy Eddie Bauer or Land’s End when they want to impress. TracFones are popular here.

I do know a lady who wears her diamond engagement ring to feed the chickens. I tell her she’s gonna have to sift the chicken poop if it slips off. Or slaughter one of her pets in order to clear out the gizzard.

Great post.

But it was all done to end raoist police brutality- just ask our foreign-payed-for media.

There’s a thin line between societal breakdown and domestic peace and prosperity. This anarchy today is unacceptable and TOTALLY because of inept Liberal politicians and politics. The Dems are promoting this destruction, absolutely immoral.
