Because we all know what a phenomenal job the social workers do when it comes to children. Maybe they want to do the right thing but they are hopelessly hamstrung by policy. If you think about it, these politicians can’t usually mess with the police....laws are passed and they enforce the law. Having a social worker determine justice puts even more power in the hands of politicians.
