US Olympic boxer Virginia Fuchs, who beat doping allegations because the banned substances were transmitted to her during sex, has spoken out in a video interview, saying she had “no idea” something like that could happen.
“When I was first notified back in March when I had these prohibited substances in me, I was in complete shock and had no idea where they had come from, knowing I had never ingested anything,” Fuchs said in the video published by FOX 26 reporter Mark Berman on Twitter about the moment she found out she was positive for Letrozole and GW1516, which are prohibited hormone and metabolic modulators.

Letrozole prevents the creation of estrogen. In men, this happens naturally as testosterone breaks down.
By slowly the decay of testosterone, it raises natural testosterone levels.
In older men, it prevents “man boobs” (from the estrogen) and also raises testosterone.
I don’t know about “doping”, but a lot of doctors are giving it to older men who want to avoid some of the unfortunate effects of aging.

No explanation at all about why her boyfriend was taking performance enhancing drugs.

I seem to recall that PEDs actually reduce sexual desire in men.
Very strange story - I do not believe it, but she has established reasonable doubt, so no punishment is the correct decision.

They test for drugs that “mask” other drugs, too.

It’s simpler than that. Many drugs are easily absorbed across skin and other membranes, including the vaginal and rectal walls, and across the inner lining of the oral cavity (doesn’t have to go to the stomach to be absorbed, just under the tongue is well-absorbed for many drugs), and then the absorbed drugs enter the blood stream to then be detectable in blood or urine. Methamphetamine is frequently “used” via the rectum in certain sexual groups and can cause fatal overdoses that way. How much of any particular drug is in the ejaculate, and when absorbed in the “target” tissues is detectable in the target blood, is of course the issue as to the credibility of her claim. Otherwise, it is entirely possible and logical. And were you aware that, similarly, many drugs pass through breast milk to nursing infants, in significant quantities?
Call me old fashioned but *I* wouldn’t have any desire to fuchs her.
There have been cases of anaphylactic shock from penicillin allergies due to exposure via sexual contact.
Letrozole is an aromatase inhibitor. It is used in breast cancer patients to keep estrogen levels lower. Bodybuilders use it for the same reason, as when they are artificially boosting testosterone levels, the body converts excess testosterone into estrogen. Letrozole inhibits the hormone that causes that conversion. Female bodybuilders, AFAIK (I’m no expert in the female side of things) would have no need of Letrozole.
The other drug which is also known as Cardarine is not something you would take an aromatase inhibitor with, as it does not affect testosterone or estrogen levels.
I’d say either she’s telling the truth or is really bad at all this, because those two drugs have no reason to be taken together.
