MONTCLAIR, N.J. -- Presidential politics move fast. What we’re watching heading into a new week on the 2020 campaign:
THE NARRATIVE
President Donald Trump makes his official return to the campaign trail this week. He’s looking to improve his political standing after trying to navigate through nationwide civil rights protests, a public health crisis and related economic devastation that has defined the worst period of his turbulent presidency.
Saturday’s rally in Oklahoma will no doubt turn out thousands of adoring supporters in a deep-red state, but it remains to be seen how he will address his weakness with independents, suburban women and people of color who will play a critical role come November.
At the same time, health experts worry that Trump’s rally could help intensify a second wave of coronavirus infections. Just as America begins to reopen, the Republican president cannot afford to see things slide backwards.
Democrat Joe Biden, meanwhile, has begun to host small public events of his own, but for now he seems content to let Trump dominate the news cycle when so much of the news is grim.
THE BIG QUESTIONS
Will Trump’s return to the campaign trail backfire?
Lest there be any questions about the risks, the invitation to Trump’s first rally since the pandemic began - in Oklahoma at the end of the week - includes a waiver absolving the campaign of any responsibility should attendees get sick.

Joe Biden can’t leave the basement. Joe Biden can’t show up at an arena with 10,000 locals showing. Joe Biden can’t give a 15-minute ‘chat’ without screwing up and talking about how he saved Captain America, or marched with Lincoln in Dover, or invented Pop-Tarts with Korn-Pop.
Trump is up to around 800,000 requested entry tickets for Oklahoma. If he’d said it was going to be Huntsville, Alabama...it’d probably be closer to 1-million entry tickets at this point.
On enthusiasm, Trump is the 700-pound guerrilla in the room. The Mueller report be damned...the fake Russian collusion be damned...the comical impeachment deal be damned, and the Antifa-led riots be damned. They’d have dig up every dead Democrat from the past sixty years for a chance in 2020, and just hope that in this dead-moment status, half of them don’t convert to Trump voters.

Well on the other hand how could we POSSIBLY accept biden as president if God forbid he won, with a deep state run media that got him elected??

Associated Press - it is always best to believe the opposite of what they write. This is just wishful thinking they want to be true.

Media bias is so bad that it is almost a parody of itself.
No it will not backfire. And who cares if it does. Trump haters are going to beotch about anything. But,, his campaigns are not about them. This is to energize his voters, reaching undecideds, and perhaps anyone else that that can think for themselves.
Anyone who says it’s a problem is a hypocrite, although It won’t stop the media or TDS’ers from spouting off once again.
If / when they do complain, perhaps just maybe, it may wake a few people up that the hypocrisy is real. That the MSM is evil. One can hope.

Because they KNOW that if Trump starts campaigning as usual, Biden will be forced to follow suit.
The COVID 19 death rate for Oklahoma is 9 per 100,000. Perhaps they are afraid it will spike up to 10 per 100,000? NY is 158 per 100,000. AP should probably worry about NY and not OK.
