The Warren Amendment didn't just call changing the names of military bases. It called for the destruction of Confederate monuments inside military graveyards including Arlington Cemetery.
During the voice vote, only Sens. Hawley and Cotton voiced opposition to the destruction of anything inside graveyards.
Other Republicans on the committee were completely silent.
Senate Republicans are now scrambling, believing Trump will veto the defense bill if it includes the Warren Amendment.
The amendment was passed with a voice vote, so there's no record on how any individual senator voted.
I was told, "this isn't the hill to die on"... I can't wait till they find that hill.
If you want to know what I said on the other end of the phone was, "grow some f****** balls and say no to these college campus white pussies and these wine moms. No one really gives a s***."
A couple of liberals seem to think destroying confederate monuments is extremely popular, it's not.
Morning Consult poll just last week found only 32% of Americans support taking down the monuments. It's probably even less in graveyards

interesting, but I have to ask.
Who is this, and whom is he telling foully to grow some unmentionables?
Twitter stinks. There is basically no context, and short stilted 1-liners.
Let’s start with statues of LBJ.
Chickens.
And statues of Woodrow Wilson. Wanna know why all those bases are named after Confederates? That’s your guy.
They’re all hoping to be the last one thrown to the alligators.
The modern day Jacobins are out of control. They seized the opportunity to start their latest revolution and their bloodlust is insatiable.
There are far too many as it is.
Right now I feel like a small child whose parents are both psychotic.
Of course, but libs dont see it that way. I want to remove things that they revere. They dont revere the confederacy; they want to destroy that stuff, too, so that doesnt affect them.
Maybe start with all of the grotesque public art theyve inflicted upon us.
“Other Republicans on the committee were completely silent”.
The “Finger in the Wind” lack of any American Principles Republican Politicians. These SPineless Cowards are the very reason WE elected Donald Trump as President.
They are worse than Dems.
Dems take a stand. The wrong stand. A destructive of everything America stands for and was founded for stand but, a stand nonetheless.
RINO’s are Gutless COWARDS. Pure and simple.
Then there is President Trump. We elected him but, in DC he is surrounded by Backstabbers from the Deep State. Every Dem, the Gov’t Bureaucrats with lifetime jobs, and the RINO’S.
Many here complain Trump hasn’t done this or that. None of the complainers here would last a month under the withering 24/7/365 assault President Trump endures.
You want to tear down the Jefferson Memorial too?
We need to plow over Virginia. It’s the mother lode of Civil War history. Just plow the whole state over and plant...what...can’t plant peanuts, allergies...can’t plant tobacco, duh...can’t plant cotton, raciss...can’t plant sugar cane, see above...can’t plant roots, IF YOU’RE WHITE.
There are over 6000 Confederate soldiers buried in Chicago on federal land. There’s also a monument; I can’t understand what type of sick, evil mind would want to tear this down.
Its been said, the best way to get rid of a bad law, is too enforce it
They wouldn’t last a week.
Uh, no. Not half of them, anyway.
This is just another of the grand cleansings started because of some feigned wrong. They happen every few years.
IIRC, the last big one came during the time when the Covington kid faced down Tom-Tom Guy.
It makes little difference whether ‘they’ get one statue or a dozen removed. They will come back again and again for another round. It isn’t just statues; it is books, movies, street names, building names, city names, on and on and on.
Should we dig them up?
