I suppose “Ghetto” is unsuitable, too?

Like I really care, but I always wondered how “urban” came to be associated with minority concerns. I once heard a high school in NW Indiana referred to as urban, when it is a good distance outside a real urban area and right at where the vast farmlands of Indiana begin. I was informed that urban means “minority majority.” In this case, most students at the school are black.

Damn. I was just getting used to calling the MS13 graffiti in my neighborhood ‘Urban Art’.

From the article:

"All references to urban have been eliminated"

and

"Latin pop album has been renamed best Latin pop or urban album"

Huh?

There have been about a dozen songs released in the last 30 years that are worth listening to.So I couldn’t care less if they rename it “God’s Own Music”.

It is all just “kill whitey” anyway.

The only thing to have sunk faster and deeper than TV and movies in the 21st C has been been modern “music.”

But they still call other music "country" based on rural areas.

Low population density music matters!

“When asked by Variety about the timing of the Grammys dropping the word “urban,” Mason explained it wasn’t necessarily a reactionary move given the current discussion about race in the country and had actually been in the works for some time.”

Urban League. Urban youth. I didn’t know the word had become widely recognized as contaminated.

I didn’t even think liberals could experience revulsion at anything but a conservative.

So they’re renaming it so people will think it isn’t the same old crap? But it will still stink just the same.
