President Donald Trump on Wednesday said he “will not even consider” renaming military bases like Fort Hood or Fort Bragg. But perhaps it is still worth considering the possibilities of offering recruits more truth in advertising via modern names. The following suggestions were sent in to us at The Federalist as potential solutions for this thorny problem:

Talking about this at the coffee shop this morning, most of us are Vietnam or era Vet’s. Since we’re a bunch of Texas boy’s we’re pretty proud of Ft Hood and definitely don’t want it or any of them renamed. If it came down to it and we had no choice we all agreed in renaming Fort Hood to Fort Benavidez. One of the toughest men this state ever produced. The Mad Mexican!
