It has been suggested that we should rename as many as 10 of our Legendary Military Bases, such as Fort Bragg in North Carolina, Fort Hood in Texas, Fort Benning in Georgia, etc. These Monumental and very Powerful Bases have become part of a Great American Heritage, and a history of Winning, Victory, and Freedom. The United States of America trained and deployed our HEROES on these Hallowed Grounds, and won two World Wars. Therefore, my Administration will not even consider the renaming of these Magnificent and Fabled Military Installations. Our history as the Greatest Nation in the World will not be tampered with. Respect our Military!

I live in the South but I’m not from here. However I have been caught up in this because of an historical site with which I am involved.
This is insane.Destroying the past and all traces of it helps nobody of any color in any way, shape or form. Except for the designers of the Brave New World.
Those bases were named by men who lived long after the war.
They understood the implications.
They were named in the spirit of national unification and respect for the character of the men on the other side.
And THAT is why they should stay the same.
After Trump is gone they will rename them. The bases will get new names after such “celebrated military figures” as Ft. Obama, Ft. Hillary, Ft. Jorgensen, Ft. Donaldson, Ft. Stanton etc

Agreed. I am not from the South, but throughout my Army career I trained or been stationed at Benning, Rucker and Bragg and I learned their history and respect for their heritage and for the communities that surround them.
I guess we shouldn’t study tactics from white generals. The stupidity continues to grow.
this reminds me of the conversation many years ago about removing all Indian themed names. when they started talking about renaming Indiana folks shut up.

He sure is. The NAMING OF THESE “SOUTHERN” FORTS WAS PART OF:
NATIONAL RECONCILIATION... that was and is certainly not a bad thing.
