Brooke Williams, the niece of George Floyd, asked when has America ever been great? as she paid tribute to her uncle at his funeral in Houston, Texas, on Tuesday afternoon.
As long as Im breathing, justice will be served for Perry, Williams pledged. That officer showed no remorse while watching my uncles soul leave his body. He begged and pleaded many times just for you to get up, but you just pushed harder. Why must the system be corrupt and broken?
Someone said, Make America Great Again, but when has America ever been great? she then asked, alluding to President Donald Trumps 2016 campaign slogan.
President Donald Trump has called Floyds death very sad and tragic and vowed justice will be served in his case.
Floyd, 46, died on Memorial Day during an arrest by Minneapolis police officers responding to a report of a man passing a counterfeit bill at a store. Video captured a white officer kneeling on the neck of the unarmed black man for nearly 9 minutes before he died, setting off protests around the world.
Memorial services were held for Floyd in Minneapolis, New York, and North Carolina last week. On Monday, thousands of mourners lined up for a public visitation at the Fountains of Praise Church in Houston.
Tuesdays funeral, which began at 11 a.m. CDT, is private but is being broadcast and live-streamed.

James Brown’s band in the 70s (including Bootsy Collins) saw first hand how awful black Africans treated other black Africans while they were on tour in Africa. They thought it was cool to go see the motherland but they realized that James was right when he was thankful that he lived in America.
2 clips (each under 2 minutes) from Mike Judges Tales From The Tour Bus, regarding James Brown taking the band to tour Africa in 1970. Bootsy Collins and others describe the militaristic government they encountered...

She’s definitely New York State Governor material.
She’s trying to cash in off this too.
Before your uncle decided to become yet another drug addict, and violent criminal.
Theres nothing special about African-Americans among Africans. The only connection they have with Africa is through ancestry.
Did the niece pose this question to Joe Biden yesterday when Joe met with George’s uncle?
Joe’s answer would probably make a good campaign ad.
Answer: Before and after O’Bastard. Not so great during those 8 years.
But their children all escaped the Irish ghetto. And one of them (my Mom) had a billionaire attend her funeral. And my Dad attended that same billionaire's funeral (he was my Dad's boss).
But now we're on a downward slide...thanks largely to having allowed the Maoists to seize control of education about 50 years ago.
Ungrateful tribal pain in the a@@. Try World War I and World War II, in which US participation and greater strength won the day against international tyranny. Just for starters.
And one other small little item... the over 600K Americans who fought over and won the FREEDOM of her ancestors-— imagine that sacrifice. Which, btw, means there ain’t gonna be no reparations because this country already GAVE in Blood.
This woman’s brother was not a good man, and she knows it- but such is the nature of the delusional to justify cashing in, as if this will “make things better”, for her, and not apply the cash to helping her own community.Hell no— not gonna happen.
So many haters!
Maybe some other county would work better for them.
Someone’s channeling big mike.
