My question exactly. Why is Barr even commenting? Policing is a local matter, and IMHO, local mayors and city councils, the immediate bosses of all police, have simply skated away from any blame or criticism in this “defund police” nonsense.
Has Barr every patrolled a city street? Why is he talking about what is good and bad restraining techniques for the safety of the police?

I don’t like the echoing of the Democrats’ “Justice in Policing Act”, which itself calls for a ban on “chokeholds” and a national police misconduct database, among other stupid left-wing things.
An officer in Fairbanks AK has a far different citizenry than NYC. As with all things American, there is no one size fits all - Barr is virtue signaling here, and it sucks.

Well, engaging in so-called virtue signaling indicates an adherence to one particular political ideology . . . does not fit with Barr’s claim to love the rule of law.
Never mind the Dems wearing their Kente stoles and kneeling, which indicates hatred for the country’s flag.
He needs to stay out of it because this isn’t a federal issue and he has no clue about the street cop other than watching cop shows.
