Carson suggested during an interview with CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union" that the President this week would further address Floyd's killing and the tensions it exposed.
"I believe you're going to be hearing from the President this week on this topic in some detail. And I would ask you maybe to reserve judgment until after that time," Carson said.
... that this was one of the worst weeks of Trump's tenure, a source close to the White House said there has been a more optimistic shift in the last two days.
The shocking job numbers released Friday showing a better-than-expected picture kicked off the weekend, and while the White House has struggled to come up with any sort of consistent messaging in response to Floyd's death while in police custody, and the movement it touched off, officials are starting the week with new resolve and new talking points.
Allies and advisers believe that the lack of violence over the weekend allows the President to double down on his "law and order" message, painting the relative calm as a direct result of his push for "domination" in the streets, a source close to the White House told CNN.
Additionally, some in and around the White House now believe they were given a gift by protesters over the weekend, as chants of "defund the police" permeated the streets. This source said there are plans to link Democrats to this effort in the hope of siphoning off more moderate voters who may view it as extreme.
Trump spent Sunday morning linking former Vice President Joe Biden to the "defund the police" movement, and his campaign has already begun to hammer Biden and other Democrats over what the President's team has tried to frame as their tolerance of destruction and lawlessness.

I saw no victory in 'law and order' this weekend as we watched thousands of police officers "take a knee, prostrate themselves before the mob, or even wash the feet of pastoral leaders as an act of shame for their whiteness.'
Evil CNN lies so not wasting my eyes on pure commie propaganda .
Today CNN is out with a poll claiming that Trump's popularity (approval)has gone down 14%.
Yea, I believe all that./s
That said, Trump's next move(s)are critical. Rioting and looting must be condemned.
Please use statistics
Young Black males are 4% of the population but commit 50% of the murders.
95% of black murders are committed by other Blacks.
Adult black women are 4% of the population, but collect 45% of all Welfare
Adult Blacks are 8% of the population hold a significant portion of government jobs ( from personal experience it seems to be at least 20% )
Where is all the ‘repression’ ?
No. No big race/”unity” speech. Any BLM nonsense will just discourage his base and be dissected by the media for not being woke enough. Hopefully this is fake news and not something seriously being considered.
I’m OK with a “unity speech” as long as it’s built around a scathing condemnation of all the white misfits burning down black neighborhoods.
Yesterday Sissy Wallace said It was the worst week for the Trump admin...ever.

Sounds like he got the same memo as CNN.
I’ve got a suggestion.
We build a big wall around Minneapolis - which we rename Floydopolis, then let them get rid of their police department. In return, though, we get to unplug CNN, MSNBC and the rest of the leftist propaganda networks.

I’d like the President to support Americans.
So far, I think he has done just that.
I see no need for a big speech that identifies 13% of the population just to say “You’re special”.
“The SHOCKING job numbers released Friday showing a better-than-expected picture”
huh!
Again, that’s my concern.
Look at what they are doing to people who don’t express their ‘white guilt’ properly.
I do think he needs to say something. From the BLM and Antifa to the white punk violence/rioting that ensued to now the whole “defund the police’ push that is indeed sweeping through blue based city councils ...if he doesn’t ‘say something’ their agenda moves forward.
The question is what should he say? A week in which he saw officers surrendering to the mob...a mutiny happening in his Generals, what is there to say? How to say it? Trump tends to be straight forward shooting, what should his next move be?
Why bother. It will just be trashed like everything else he does.
Trump doesn't do empathy. He doesn't do sympathy. He doesn't do unity. And he doesn't do written speeches well. Anything his staff writes will come across as stiff, wooden, and phony.
Let Trump be Trump. Let him lead us through this using his own words and his own actions. Trust his instincts.
They will dissect everything word he says.
Carson said as much on the talk show yesterday.
Feel this should be done for history documentation. That said, speech itself will do no good
He’s got to address it, but I expect he’ll only go along with the lies about black men having legitimate fear for their lives from police.
Just because their ancestors loaded them on slave ships, these black foks hate whitey so repression HAS to exist
