We, the NFL, condemn racism and the systematic oppression of Black People. We, the NFL, admit we were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier and encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest. We, the NFL, believe Black Lives Matter. Roger Goodell
Thus did the commissioner of the National Football League join the 21st Century. What delayed his arrival was not prejudice or even conviction. It was simply business as usual, influenced the by the collected, banal, midnight tweets of Donald J Trump. When the President speaks, until now, the league always kowtowed.
But this past week, in a video that went viral, the players spoke in unison and volume. Without them, there is no product. They were eloquent, unified and Goodell finally got their message. His decision was strictly business.
In his apology, Goodell never mentioned Colin Kaepernick. Ignoring Kaepernicks role is like saying Hurricane Katrina was started by a leaky shower in New Iberia, La. Goodell said the league was wrong for not listening to the players. But he avoided apologizing to the man to whom they did listen; the man blackballed by the owners, who, in desperate need of backup quarterbacks, still ostracized him; the man who paid the price for taking on the Establishment.

If Kaepernick is signed by an NFL team BLM will insist that the opposing teams defense not be allowed on the field when his team is on offense.
Well the NFL is all about the owners, isn’t it? In one instance theyre all independent businessmen. But ever since Pete Rozelle came in to market the league it has increasingly become 1 single corporation with 32 members of the Board of Directors. So while I think Izenberg is wrong, I can see where he gets his idea. He sees the league as NFL, Inc. where the Commissioner can simply point to an owner and say “You must sign Player X”. I would point out to Jerry that, while this may have happened in the past (Eagles signing of Michael Vick) it is not really standard practice yet.
Roger Goodell owes kraperdink nothing. Rather, I think Goodell owes team owners his resignation letter.
Roger Goodell
One could not find a bigger piece of trash. I figure he will be on his knees in a few days begging for forgiveness.
Oppression of Black People.
How did Obama get elected twice,oh wait by white people that Oppression must be some real bad stuff.
“...the players spoke in unison and volume. Without them, there is no product.”
Anyone noticed what is missing in all of this?
Specific DEMANDS for change. All we hear is ‘something must change!’. Ok. What? Please articulate. What law is racist? What part of ‘the system’ is racist? Explain.
If you can’t articulate it then this is all far more about your FEELINGS. The media has convinced black people that cops start their day by wondering how many black man they’ll be able to hunt down today. They can’t even point to data. That’s the last thing they want people to do as well - because it will blow holes right through any argument.
I love hearing how black people “can’t be racist” while admitting they can be ‘prejudiced’. Wow, what a fine line. Yet, concurrently, wouldn’t allow a white person to claim the same, not ‘racist’, only ‘prejudiced’.
There’s nothing logical about any of this. Of course, this is all nothing more than the media and racist groups (BLM) trying for maximum damage to PDJT running up to an election - one they can’t comprehend losing again.
They have blood on their hands. They’ve destroyed thousands of businesses, including black owned. To be so willing to do all this means it has reached the point of demonic. One word - evil.
Condy Rice is not fit to replace Goodell. Beside her being a numb headed NWO Bushie, she is an establishment effete elite. Don’t need her in Sports, even if it is the dying NFL.
Fans are consumers too. The product has become flawed, traveling down the BLM’s dead end street. The product has spoiled, and there is no reason to see it or for them to realize it until the stadiums are being razed for urban housing projects.
It was a good run but, in the end, pissing on your consumers/customers is fatal. Pete Rozelle is spinning in his grave.
I won’t miss the NFL at all. Haven’t watched them since Colin screwed the pooch.
Mainly because she is a career foreign policy diplomat with zero background in the sports industry. Making her NFL commissioner makes as much as sense as making Larry Byrd the Poet Laureate.
Colin Kaepernick is a black prima donna who never really was. He tries to be somebody but repeatedly fails. He should realize he is old news and totally irrelevant.
Foolishly, Mitt Romney followed his lead into irrelevancy
