I worked with a very liberal Christian guy who also happened to be black. He asked me why conservatives don’t want to raise taxes to help poor people and still claim to follow Jesus. I told him that Jesus told his followers to help the poor, not for Ceasar to confiscate half of worker’s money, some of which goes to help poor that may or may not want to work.
