Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser on Friday unveiled the newly minted "Black Lives Matter Plaza" near the White House in an apparent tribute to the protesters who have advocated against police brutality and racism in the city over the past several days in the wake of the death of George Floyd.
Bowser tweeted a photo of what appeared to be a city worker affixing a street sign to a light pole on a section of 16th Street in the nation's capital.
"The section of 16th street in front of the White House is now officially 'Black Lives Matter Plaza,'" she said.

Cue Church Lady: “Isn’t that special”?
Is bowser barking to be a candidate for biden’s vp?
It wont have the desired effect.
Is there already an abortuary on that street or is she going to build a new one?
Is Planned Parenthood located on this street? Poetic justice if it is.
Obamas house is where Patriots should gather.
NEA and other Unions used to be there
Is there a White Lives Matter Plaza?
Stay tuned for Nanzi, Schumer, etc. to head that way this afternoon for a photo op.
That’s not all. The words “Black Lives Matter” are painted on 16th street in yellow letters that are four lanes tall. The words stretch three full blocks of 16th street. The painting began at 3am and was recently completed. It’s impressive-looking.
As Trump is now calling their agenda, “Baby Talk”. I love that! That is what it is. It is what you expect to hear from the baby just before you wipe the poo off of its aarse.
I’ll bet it’s like every “MLK Jr” road in america - a place you want to avoid.
Black live matter except when Planned Parenthood is butchering black babies! What fools!
They need to erect a statue there.
Of a black man kneeling.
LOL. Yeah sometimes on various issues leftists and liberal types sound like children.
What leftist know but ignore and Americans seem ignorant of is that Washington, D.C. is a federal district created under the Residence Act on July 16, 1790. The U.S. Constitution provided for a federal district under the exclusive jurisdiction of the U.S. Congress, and the District is therefore not a part of any U.S. state. Congress, in 1871, created a single municipal government for the District and therefor the mayor and city government of D.C. are a creation of, and subordinates to, Congress. Congress maintains supreme authority over the city and may overturn local laws.
The District did not have an elected local government until the passage of the 1973 Home Rule Act. The Act devolved certain Congressional powers to an elected mayor, currently Muriel Bowser, and the thirteen-member Council of the District of Columbia. However, Congress retains the right to review and overturn laws created by the council and intervene in local affairs.
The outcome of this insurrection will be determined by the election results in November. Please remember to vote and make sure that those that think like we do vote as well. Your freedoms and your life may depend on it
Can’t wait to see the car crashes when the paint gets ice slick in the rain
