Mayor Bowser is playing with fire. The D.C. National Guard is always under the president’s command because there is no governor, which means that President Trump does not have to activate any special or unusual authorities to use the units for security or policing in and around the District. If the governors of other states have activated their sate’s National Guard units and sent them to DC that is also perfectly legal.

What leftist know but ignore and Americans seem ignorant of is that Washington, D.C. is a federal district created under the Residence Act on July 16, 1790. The U.S. Constitution provided for a federal district under the exclusive jurisdiction of the U.S. Congress, and the District is therefore not a part of any U.S. state. Congress, in 1871, created a single municipal government for the District and therefor the mayor and city government of D.C. are a creation of, and subordinates to, Congress. Congress maintains supreme authority over the city and may overturn local laws.

The District did not have an elected local government until the passage of the 1973 Home Rule Act. The Act devolved certain Congressional powers to an elected mayor, currently Muriel Bowser, and the thirteen-member Council of the District of Columbia. However, Congress retains the right to review and overturn laws created by the council and intervene in local affairs.

The outcome of this insurrection will be determined by the election results in November. Please remember to vote and make sure that those that think like we do vote as well. Your freedoms and your life may depend on it
