Put them all in Trumps hotel. Let the little commies try and attack it then!
Utah sent about 200 soldiers, including Green Berets from the 19th Special Forces Group who were already postured for a deployment

Strange.
These are privately run hotels right?
When did any mayor get the right to eject lawful quests from any hotel?
What its like for Utah National Guard troops deployed in D.C.

Yes, they are all corporate hotels with standing govt accounts.
No clue why she’s got a bee in her bonnet. Might be related to her tantrum that the DC mayor is not a governor. And it’s not like DC hotels are booked solid right now.
But if Trump replaces her as mayor of a federal district, the line of succession is the Chairman of the DC Council or something and probably just as rabid.
You beat me to the idea
The mayor, even by DC law, has no authority to remove ‘customers’ of any hotel. This sounds like some fake news item. You’d basically be telling the hotel that they can’t operate unless they have the ‘right’ customers.
It’s Lee himself making the claim so I dunno, Pepsi.
I hope Lee, Bowser, and possibly Marriott Corporate will clarify matters first thing this morning.
The shrew must be tamed!
LOL.
Evicting troops will only result in a large military tent camp on the mall and in Lafayette Park.
Mike Lee?
I recall that name from the Obama era. He was alleged to be a man of conviction.
Mayor wants a giant riot on Saturday.
Has plans.
The mayor, even by DC law, has no authority to remove customers of any hotel.
If the Guard members are being quartered in the hotels without normal payment, it might be a Third Amendment issue.
Typically, if you are activated...you have some finance officer who has contacted the hotel, and worked out the rate (the gov’t gets a discounted rate...usually 20-percent off), and the bill is either handed to the finance officer, or handled via visa cards that you’d have as a military member.
In this time of Covid-19, I’m guessing the occupancy level of the hotel is extremely low, and there’s no argument about accepting paying customers.
It may be that the hotel has received numerous threats, and is now worried over their client’s safety and the stability of the hotel.
All of this is just begging for a Kent State type end-result, with mass casualties.
Well, then, call the WH, Mike.
"Whachoo gonn' do 'bout it, CRAKUH!"
Best yet his hotel gets to charge the gov for the rooms....expensive rooms.
I was just thinking same thing.
