The mayor of Los Angeles has vowed to cut $150million from the city's police budget and give it to communities of color.
...
In addition to the sizable redirection of funds, Garcetti told reporter officers will be required to report misconduct going forward and to intervene when witnessing displays of excessive force.
By July, he said, a LA Department of Civil and Human Rights and an Office of Racial Equality will be up and running.

Just watch. The next time Garcetti wants to raise taxes, he'll threaten the public with having to cut the police budget if they don't vote for it.

cops won't toss their badges...but they will "slow down" police work in minority hoods....
they want their pension and they'll get their pension and if they have to slack off to get it , they'll do it....

The voters of Los Angeles know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.

What good will it do to those communities?
Nothing!
Next they will protest when the cops didn't show up to protect them.

LAPD should announce a corresponding cut to patrols and response times in affluent neighborhoods.

Who needs cops?
The less virtuous a people, the greater their need for laws (and cops). Fortunately these are very virtuous neighborhoods, so they should be fine.

We’ve entered the giddy stage of progressive liberalism. At this point it becomes how when and where will the people say enough.

It is frightening to even contemplate being under the rule of such a complete agenda-driven moron. He actually goes beyond the state of being a moron, he is insane. What, is he in a contest with DumblASSio for Most Absolutely Insane Head of a City or in a Kiss Minority Butt & Surrender contest? LA already has its share of homeless bums and COVID—now they need a reduction in their police force? And doubtless, minority council members will be the ones, as in NYC, going over the police budget one by one, to make it “kosher” and completely impotent.

Doing is another matter.
Does LA have a city council?

"...officers will be required to report misconduct going forward and to intervene when witnessing displays of excessive force."I suppose they'll be reporting misconduct to their local BLM overlord who will also have the power and authority to define "excessive force" in any manner he sees fit.
Enjoy the suck!!!

Eliminate all of the pensions in all City of LA jobs and you’ll find a lot more money to give away.
Challenge those who are losing it to speak out against such a policy.

I’m hearing repeatedly that the reason it is so hard to get rid of “bad cops” is because of union protections in collective bargaining.
Make the union leaders defend their policies.

2019-2020 proposed budget was 3 billion so 150 million is about 5%
