Civil rights veteran Bob Woodson rejects claims of 'systemic racism,' says black struggles issue of class

Former civil rights activist Bob Woodson issued a sweeping indictment Tuesday of both the Black Lives Matter movement and the idea that "systemic racism" is the cause of African-American hardship in the U.S.

"I don't know what systemic racism is. Maybe someone can explain what that means," he told "Tucker Carlson Tonight." Carlson responded by asserting that it was "a way to make people be quiet and stop asking questions about economics, as far as I can tell."

Woodson's interview came as protesters across America marched for another night to protest police brutality against George Floyd and other African Americans -- something many have described as a result of systemic or institutional racism.

Earlier in his interview, Woodson, a former head of the National Urban League Department of Criminal Justice, told Carlson that the civil rights movement promised that if black people led institutions, "all of black America would be better off."

Woodson told Carlson that he left the movement because he "realized that many of the people who suffered most -- poor blacks -- do not benefit from the change -- that they're demographics were used by some of those leaders."

Sorry, I thought he was on with Hannity. Anyway, I believe he is spot on. He'll probably be vilified by the race baiters. Leo Turrel was also on and was quite vocal about the 'mares' and guvs refusing to work with Trump to end the BS. And he is by no means conservative. He believes they would rather see their cities and towns burned down than admit Trump is correct. YUGE TDS at play.

He does not only reject the claim of ‘systemic racism,’ he openly stated last night that he wants the mofos using the term to define it cause he, himself, has no utter clue what it even means as a civil rights activist!

Success is a function of intelligence privilege, get-off-your-duff privilege and emotional-maturity privilege.
You had better be strong in at least two of these. Some folks are sorely lacking in all three.

Seems like this guy mostly gets it. But I have to quibble with this --

"It's more class than it is race"

People talk like that because they have absorbed some of the lies of Marxism. Class doesn't exist. It's not a "thing". The problem in American isn't Race and it isn't Class. It's ideological. You either support the rights of the Individual, or you support tribal politics where one group can be pitted against another group. People who pretend to care about "Class" do not support Individual rights.

This is about the lockdown - and it being an election year.

This Floyd guy was struggling in the cop car and saying he couldn’t breathe. They pulled him out and held him down because he was so combative and they were waiting for a different, more secure, form of transport for the drug addled perp.

As usual, the rioters and protesters are going off with only partioal information. It’s the Brown riots all over again, except thanks to CV19 and it being an election year, it’s going nationwide - as I predicted in MARCH that it would if the lockdown went much past April.

Yup. Woodie has his Blind Squirrel Moment.

Working-class Black Americans in cities are seeing their livelihoods destroyed by spoiled, self-centered suburban white punks who have joined groups like ANTIFA.

The instigator arrested here in Pittsburgh is a 20-year old white punk from the suburbs. Mommy and Daddy actually accompanied him to his arraignment.

I think he meant within the AA sector where the ‘just-us’ bros make big bux off the rabble by fomenting more dissention among those that have been oppressed by CRA 64.

I watched this last night with amazement. I had a prob with Tucker at the start of the lockdowns but since he realized that they were a scam, he has been hitting this out of the park.

Neo-marxism is only different from Marxism in that it extends the potential for oppression from purely economic class, to all manifestations of society. Neo-marxists say that oppression and exploitation is also manifested in societal norms of race, gender, sexual preference, etc….

I would not trust someone offering either explanation.

It's the same old story with almost all of these cases. You don't even have to write a new script. You can just dust off the old one and re-use it:

1. Black civilian is pulled over in a vehicle by the police for a motor vehicle violation, or the police are called to the scene by another civilian reporting a crime.

2. Black civilian is combative and resists arrests.

3. Police officer(s) responding to the scene have to deal with a combative civilian. At this point the police officer(s) are no longer police officers, but garbage collectors.

4. Black civilian dies during the incident.

5. Police officer(s) are prosecuted (perhaps legitimately).

6. Black civilian becomes an international martyr.

7. The toxicology report on the black civilian -- which shows his bloodstream to be a veritable warehouse for both Anheuser-Busch and CVS Pharmacy -- never gets any coverage at all.

It's actually gotten tiresome. This kind of sh!t dates all the way back to the lionization of a misfit loser named Horst Wessel in Nazi Germany.

“Systemic Racism” is an amorphous boogie man to claim injustices about a group, without needing to show a cause or individual that is at fault.

This guarantees that since no single cause is cited, nor individuals are at fault, that there is no way to actually solve the claimed problems, and ensures permanent grievances against individuals and groups willing to accept the blame (for a description of this pathology, see Any Rand’s “Sanction of the Victim,” where innocent, decent people are willing to suffer at the hands of the evil.)

"I don't know what systemic racism is. Maybe someone can explain what that means,"

Capitalism, people. It's their code word for CAPITALISM. You're a Socialist, or you're a Racist. They've been saying this since the 1990s.

I googled “systemic racism example” last week. Every example I could find was a problem of economic differences. For example, hockey players are white men because white boys are the only ones rich enough to afford the equipment. That is quite obviously a money problem, not a skin color problem.

There's that great Biden quote -- "Poor kids deserve the same opportunities as White kids."

Huh?

This is never about Race. It's Marxism. It's the call for redistribution of wealth. Skin color doesn't really factor into it, but that's a useful tool to fool the gullible.
